"Cool bright tones go well with fair skin- think Scandinavian blonde like Kate Bosworth."
"Olive skin suits warmer blonde tones such as a balayage- think beach blonde like Khloe Kardashian."
"If you have dark skin use a darker blonde shade around the face to lift colour and frame your face- similar to Beyonce."
Jack Howard at Paul Edmonds explains when choosing your shade of blonde a top tip to go by is, "If silver jewellery looks better on you then you're a cool tone and if gold looks better you're warm."
When visiting the salon Nicola recommends bringing pictures/cut-outs to show the exact hues you want. "As a rule avoid yellow tones and for a modern do-ditch the 'block-blonde' Christina Aguilera 90s style".
"Maintaining your colour is vital as blonde colour can be extra damaging to hair health," says Jack. He recommends taking a supplement such as Viviscal as it will strengthen your hair from the inside which will add to your hair's colour and sheen.

To maintain your colour Nicola says,"Dye your hair as often as you feel you need it- everyones hair is different so it is totally indiviudal."
Jack recommends the following: "Lock in your colour whilst adding hydration with Shu Uemura Moisture Velvet Shampoo."
