A hair dye that changes colour based on the temperature will hit shelves later this year, and if it catches on like mood rings in the 90s, it's going to be huge.

'Fire' will be available in several amazing colour options including black to red, blue to white and silver to powder blue.

Creator Lauren Bowker explained the science behind it, saying: “Above a certain temperature, one of the molecule forms is more stable than the other, and so a reaction takes place producing a molecule with a slightly different absorption of light, and thus a different color. Essentially, the active part of the dye system is a complex carbon based molecule, which undergoes a reversible reaction with itself.”

Lasting for just a couple of washes, we predict this will be at festivals everywhere.
