Online prescription service, Skin + Me, changed the game when it launched in 2020, giving greater access to bespoke skincare advice. Now Hair + Me (its sister brand) has launched to bring the same level of care, attention and expert treatment to our strands.
The online platform offers up access to expert consultations with leading hair dermatologists. You fill in a questionnaire, highlight your hair concerns and goals and provide pictures. They put together a bespoke prescription and treatment plan, tailored to your needs which arrives straight to your front door – whether you just want to maintain overall hair health or are concerned about thinning, fullness, post-partum or perimenopausal fall-out.
It's the first brand to elevate powerful topical medicine, minoxidil, from a clinical treatment to a luxurious ingredient with scalp solutions that blend minoxidil with scalp-boosting oils like rosemary. Although, based on your lifestyle, preferences and routine, you may be offered a supplement version instead. The platform aims to alleviate hair-related anxieties and effectively treat concerns with unlimited expert support and one-to-one care offered to users. It's important to note that it can take between 3-6 months to see results.

The Product

My hair is very fine and lacking volume, so I've been looking for a product that promises to give thicker, fuller hair. I've been pleasantly surprised with how much I've really enjoy using Hair + Me. The consultation process was easy: upload a photo, answer some questions and a dermatologist expert assigns you to your product. They prescribed me The Drops, a bottle and pipette combo containing 5% niacinamide and 0.1% melatonin. I read that melatonin can cause hair fall-out, which did concern me prior to using the product, however, I didn't experience any fallout at all.
The product was delivered directly to my door, making it convenient for home treatment. I've been using it before bed, applying the treatment directly onto my scalp and massaging in. However, consistency is key to properly noticing results – I averaged five or six nights of using it per week. My hair does feel thicker and so much healthier. Overall, I'm very happy with this product and will continue to use it on my hair.

I was keen to try Hair + Me as I have a thinning patch of hair on my crown towards the back of my parting, likely due to perimenopause. My mum has a similar patch so it feels like a rite of ageing passage in our family, but what if something could help me escape this thinning hair fate? I also have faith in the brand after trying their prescription skincare (Skin + Me) and seeing visible results thanks to the prescription ingredients.
I have been applying the prescription scalp serum for the last six weeks at night or after a shower. It contains minoxidil at 5%, which works to limit hair loss and encourage hair growth by increasing blood circulation to the scalp and extending the growth phase. I think it's starting to pay dividends as my hair is beginning to feel thicker in this spot. I need to carry on applying daily for 3-6 months to reap the full rewards, but so far I'm encouraged and keen to continue.

I’ve been using Hair + Me for a few weeks now, and I’m impressed. My hair has always been a little fine and lifeless so since my teenage years I've been on the hunt for any and every type of product to give it a little extra oomph. Unsurprisingly the years of texturising, volumising and back-combing have taken their toll and my hair seems thinner now than ever, so I was excited to see if Hair + Me could help. The process was super easy – a quick questionnaire followed by a couple of pics and my first delivery was on its way. I loved the option of a pill instead of the serum as I’ve always found serums a bit of a faff to apply, so one pill before bed every night was ideal.
I am a month into the treatment and I have definitely noticed a difference. My hair does feel a little thicker, particularly on my hairline and parting which I highlighted as my main problem areas. I’m keen to see how my progress continues going forward, but so far so good.

I've been wanting to try minoxidil for the longest time but have always been wary of it because of the hair shedding that comes in its early stages and the fact that once thicker, new hairs do start to come in, it promotes hair growth everywhere, not just your head. That said, from my years of hair growth research I've also seen it hailed as the holy grail, so I was excited to finally try it for myself.
I loved how straightforward the Hair + Me consultation process was and how compact the packaging of the product itself is (I was prescribed a course of pills). That said, getting into the habit of remembering to take the supplement each night before bed took a little longer because I tend to do this for other products first thing in the morning.
As someone with naturally thin hair anyway, I have to also admit that I did definitely internally freak out three weeks into testing when I noticed particularly bad fallout, though I'm hopeful that with consistent use over the coming year I'll start to see results better than any other treatment I've tried. One month of testing is way too early to tell for a treatment like this (which requires around 3 months, minimum) but I have friends who have seen great results from minoxidil, so watch this space for now.
