The Grammys took place last night, when music's elite come together to celebrate their biggest players.

With it comes a red carpet crazier than all others - this less about looking good, rather about making a statement. Which isn't easy when competition is so fierce (Lady Gaga, we're looking at you). Beyonce sported a wedding dress, Taylor Swift wore an unusual tribute to 10 Things I Hate About You and Zendaya brought back the mullet - there was a lot going on last night.

Here's the biggest fashion talking points:

Florence Welch won the Grammys in Gucci

There is no fashion label that has as much clout at the moment than Gucci and its eclectic geek chic look suits Florence Welch's individual free-spirited approach to dressing down to the ground. One of the few stars that truly hit the nail on the head at last night's show. Nice one Florence.

Beyonce came dressed as a bride (really)

Honestly, she did. Queen Bey wore a look by bridal designer Inbal Dror - a white lace gown with sheer panelling. Don't try this at home kids.

Johnny Depp continues his mid-life crisis

Dressed as a poor man's try hard version of Keith Richards (again), Johnny Depp performed with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry. Cringe.

Our most beloved Grammy attendee was absent from last night's proceedings due to bronchitis, and how we missed her. The red carpet was infinitely duller without her brilliantly mad outfits like the pink cupcake affair above.

Cut-out detailing was a big deal

Lady Gaga went Bowie

A cracking ensemble from Lady Gaga who came wearing custom-made Marc Jacobs - a tribute to her late hero, David Bowie. It's peak Gaga - bold, flamboyant and statement-making, She really did put on her red shoes and danced to the blues.

Half of Ciara's dress weirdly fell off

Without sounding like someone's Dad, Ciara appears to be missing half her dress. We're not saying she looks anything less than smokin' hot, but it does look like a large part of her dress fell off.

And everyone lost their shit over it. Remember Bianca's crop top prom ensemble in 10 Things I Hate About You? Well, Taylor Swift went there - showcasing her impressive abs situation.

Zendaya's mullet

Come to think of it, we'd like to salute Zendaya's entire outfit - a DSquared tux (very sharp) - as well as her badass mullet, which she managed to look great. Her new do was a tribute to David Bowie, but whether or not this will spark copycat looks is yet to be seen.

Alison Mosshart ignored any dress code

One nil to Alison Mosshart who decided to ignored the status quo for mad Grammy outfits and came as herself in her normal rock 'n' roller clothes because that's what she feels and looks good in. Seems reasonable to us.
