We tried the brand-new Glossier Stretch Fluid Foundation and you just need to see the results for yourself…

It's givin' skin…
Glossier Stretch Fluid Foundation Review See videos

It hasn't even been a week and this Glossier Stretch Fluid Foundation has already dominated our For You Pages on TikTok. The power that Glossier holds. You may remember the days when Glossier was the ultimate Gen-Z secret handshake; a nod to their Boy Brow, £18 here, a dab of their Futuredew, £26 there and you're part of the club. That's not to mention the addiction we've had to that dang Glossier You Eau De Parfum, £56, yes the one that had everyone asking us: “Excuse me, but what perfume are you wearing?”

Granted the Stretch Balm Concealer, £22 is still having its moment, but this new foundation might be the missing piece to the makeup puzzle you probably didn't realise you needed. The £34 foundation has 32 shades that stretch and embrace a wide variety of skin tones, from very fair to very deep.

Not only are you getting full buildable coverage, you're getting a super rich ideation of a tinted moisturiser, as this foundation is 89% skincare-based, giving you that super natural, low effort “under painting” finish. With the stamina of a marathon runner, this base product also promises to last up to 12 hours of wear, so that means party well into the night with the confidence of a full face still intact.

Sounds glorious… but is it really worth the hype? We tried five different shades on five different GLAMOUR staffers with different skin types and complexions and here are their truest and most honest thoughts.

I'll be honest. I'm not really in my foundation era. I feel like my skin is a good enough place to live off concealer and concealer alone. I'm always seeking the quickest and easiest way out and if I can take our a product from my makeup routine and find no issues, I will. However, I heard so many good reviews on TikTok about this foundation already, I had to give it a try.

I love the packaging, and two pumps give you the perfect amount product to cover the entire face. It's so lightweight it feels like you have nothing but a hydrating serum on, but the coverage is impeccably creamy and buildable. It's covered all signs of pigmentation as I buffed it in and I even used it sparingly, as I like my base to look like skin.

While it may not be one for the girlies who like heavy coverage, it's the perfect formulation for someone like me who just wants to even out her complexion and create a great canvas for no-makeup makeup days or a full beat night. This foundation might just be everything I didn't know I needed and I think I've just been converted back into foundation-nation.

I'll be honest, I thought this foundation was going to be more of a skincare/BB cream formula than the spot-concealing dream that it actually turned out to be. Forget what the box says, this is very much a medium-full coverage foundation - so much so that it covered my acne without needing to go over with concealer. It really lives up to the hype of the Stretch concealer and might actually even overtake it for me. It wore well all day and only really rubbed off around my nose where my glasses sit, but I'm yet to meet a foundation that doesn't, so I'll definitely be keeping this on my dressing table.

As a fan of the makeup-as-skincare trend, Glossier's Stretch Foundation immediately caught my interest. 89% skincare based with a natural finish? I'm in. Firstly, I loved the packaging. Nothing bothers me more than a messy foundation applicator, but this pump was chef's kiss. It also pumped out enough to cover my face which is a big plus as there's no wasted product.

I was also impressed with the coverage, it helped cover the overall redness and angry spot on my forehead without looking too cakey. I did notice that I could really see my skin texture underneath, more so than with other foundations I use. So if that's a big no-no for you then I'd maybe avoid it. Otherwise, the finished result gave me enough coverage and natural glow to take me from day to night makeup.

In my head, Glossier is synonymous with a natural, effortless and glowy finish, so when trying their new stretch fluid foundation that's exactly what I had in mind for my end result.

I loved the simple pump dispenser which made it a breeze to get out a decent amount of product, though I had expected a more liquid texture to it. This was no bad thing, though, as it made applying the product easier than it can sometimes be when having to rush to mop and blend a more liquid foundation. Once on it felt like it took a little while to blend out, though when I had I was happy with the fresh finish that it gave. My skin looked moisturised without appearing greasy, and it gave me more coverage than expected.

I also loved that after a few hours of wear it didn't sink into fine lines on my face - something that has previously felt unavoidable with foundations. I wasn't conscious of my pores or worried about looking shiny - always a win! Overall I would definitely reach for Glossier's stretch fluid foundation again, though it's not managed to take the top spot in my makeup bag just yet. I'm optimistic that a few more trials and potentially combining it directly with my skincare might just change this!

When it comes to new beauty launches, foundation is one of the few products that tends to excite me most, especially when it's coming from an iconic brand like Glossier. As someone who already swears by Glossier concealers, I was over the moon when I got my hands on the new Stretch Fluid Foundation. It provides just the right amount of coverage to cancel out my redness and give me that blurred look, all the while leaving my skin still looking like skin.

It's also buildable, meaning I could easily amp it up for the days when I'm after a more dramatic look. The gel-like skincare formula feels incredible on the skin and it's also extremely easy to blend (no creasing or cakey-ness in sight). Long story short, this is definitely a foundation that I'll be coming back to time and time again.
