Last week GLAMOUR hosted a Gbookclub event out which had, well, pretty much everything going for it.

Two brilliant, bestselling authors: David Nicholls and Cecelia Ahern, discussing their latest novels, Us and The Marble Collector at the ultra-chic Conde Nast College of Fashion.

Shopping. Courtesy of Hush - who were there with our fashion team's edit of their sleek, chic, we-want-it-all A/W collection a.k.a. a whole lot of temptation.

Entertainment Editor and all-round literary fiend Helen Whitaker was in the chair, and she hosted a fascinating chat between David and Cecelia. Both of their novels deal with relationships beyond the romantic girl-meets-boy - and they discussed writing about familial love; their techniques and tips (David is in awe of Cecelia's structured writing day - and her literary output); and hitting the cutting room floor.

David was "so self-conscious" his cameo in One Day died a death - and Cecelia watched the whole of Love, Rosie (the film adaptation of Where Rainbows End) before realising her cameo hadn't made it onto the big screen. Yep, we fell for both of them in a big way: the are your ultimate dream dinner party guests.

Afterwards there was much signing of books, drinking (the Echo Falls wine went down all-too-easily and the sparkling Qcumber quenched our thirst, especially with a dash of Tanqueray gin) and more shopping - with GLAMOUR's Holly White on hand to talk the audience through the trends and her favourite Hush pieces (we loved the cashmere and the jumpsuit was a big hit). We set off into the night with bulging goody bags, signed books tucked under our arms and new wardrobe ordered.
