No one does supermodel glam quite like Gigi Hadid. That much we already know. But contrary to popular opinion, I'm a firm believer that it's Gigi's low-key, off-duty outfits that leave her looking her very best. There's just something about her ability to throw on a Mango yellow crocheted knit and baggy jeans (remember that??) – or leggings with the fashion pack's favourite shoe of the moment (that's UGGs, FYI) – and look effortlessly; beautifully chic in the process. Arguably even more so than when she's appearing on the red-carpet/walking for, let's say… Altuzarra at New York Fashion Week.
Such was the case this week, when the 26-year-old stepped out in Paris in an outfit that can only be described as the epitome of transitional dressing. Layers upon layers of sartorial goodness.
Gigi donned a pair of leather trousers with flat black ankle boots, a printed, jersey polo neck and a brown open shirt. But the star of the show? A brown gilet strewn atop the rest of the get-up, which you'd be forgiven for assuming is designer.
I have some good news for you. Wonderfully, said brown gilet was, in fact, from Spanish high-street label Mango once again (it was this brown, quilted anorak with detachable gilet, to be exact). And somehow, phenomenally, it's still available in every size.
Of course, this won't be the case for very long. When a high-street staple get a celebrity endorsement – not least one from Queen Gigi – it's unlikely to stay in stock for much longer than a matter of days. So, if you're a fan? Run, don't walk.
Gigi's pick can be worn as either a double-layer jacket to keep you toasty in the characteristically unpredictable British weather, or, you can wear the gilet on its own. Over a chunky jumper, breton t-shirt or shirt, a la Gigi. Of course, you can also wear the oversized quilted jacket alone, too. So much bang for your buck.

Feeling bad about placing yet another order? Don't feel quite so guilty. Gigi's brown gilet is filled with recycled wellon padding, making it kinder to the planet than other iterations on the market. It's part of the brand's Committed range, which means it has been produced using sustainable fabrics or processes, reducing their environment impact. Win, win, win.
