It's general election season, of course all the political parties suddenly care about women. Or do they?
There's a lot at stake for women and other marginalised genders in the 2024 election, from abortion rights to online safety. And yet, we've heard precious little from the main political parties about how they intend to win our votes.
So, we decided to ask you, the GLAMOUR readers, to share who you will vote for in the general election. And the results are in.
Instagram content
After Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced the general election on Wednesday 22nd May, taking place on 4th July, we created an Instagram poll for you to share your voting intentions.
Over 3000 of you responded, with the vast majority of you (65%) indicating you'd vote for Labour, while only 6% opted for the Conservatives. 8% of you said you'll be voting for the Liberal Democrats, while 21% selected ‘Other’.
Many of you took to the comments to express your support for the Green Party, while Martin Lewis, the consumer journalist and money-saving expert, and Hugh Grant, the actor and Prime Minister in Love Actually, also received honourable mentions.
Many people expressed their frustration over the two-party political system. One person commented, “Labour, reluctantly. But I just can’t take any more of the Torys and don’t see any other party realistically winning this time around,” while another added, “We really need some better options because right now none of the choices seem worthy of the job.”

We also opened up our DMs to see who you're voting for – and a further 1400 of you responded. It was a similar story with 64.7% selecting Labour, 10.7% going for Lib Dems, 16.5% choosing ‘Other’, and 8.1% selecting Conservatives.
Here's what a few of you said:
