If you've got a finger on the pulse of fashion, you'll have noticed just how many collaborations are launching this month. Barbour x GANNI, however, is the one you need to pay closest attention to RN.
Launching today (30th October), the impossibly cool Scandi brand run by husband and wife duo Nicolaj and Ditte Reffstrup has joined forces with British heritage and lifestyle label Barbour for the third time. And it might be their best drop yet.
Remember how we told you the best winter coats this year come in silhouettes you've already heard of, reinforcing the buy-once-wear-forever sentiment that outerwear should embody? Well Barbour x GANNI backs that notion, too.
Similarly to the Hermès, Max Mara and Christian Dior AW24 runways, GANNI x Barbour have taken the humble trench coat and have given it a modern twist. Think: corduroy collars, leather accents and contrast linings.
GANNI is no stranger to an epic collaboration, of course. Proving alliances hold serious sartorial standing time after time, it has worked with the likes of Levi's and New Balance in seasons past. But for GANNI Creative Director Ditte Reffstrup, Barbour has always been something of a dream partner. Not least because their timeless, throw-on autumn jackets (which have been mainstays in the down-time wardrobes for many since 1894) conjure up a feeling of integrity for her. In the same way Levi's did (and does).
Speaking of the first collection, Ditte said, “I’ve always been a big fan of Barbour. Their outerwear is so iconic, you just want to keep their pieces forever – the design is so timeless and the quality is simply that good.” A sentiment which still rings true.

The result of the ongoing partnership is a celebration of craftsmanship, longevity and heritage inspired by the marriage of both brands' native homelands (being: South Shields and Copenhagen), and this third collection showcases the best of both labels while retaining their iconic styles.
For Barbour, pieces that are synonymous with the British countryside (namely, classic khaki wax jackets), and for affordable luxury pioneers GANNI: playful prints, oversized collars, pops of colour and so much Scandi cool.
The 2024 line-up signifies the growing friendship of the two family-run brands with waxed cotton outerwear staples taking centre stage (of course), plus two new silhouettes – a belted trench and a duffle coat in two different colourways – and a few logo-stamped accessories.
So if you've been struggling to find outerwear that ‘does it all’, i.e. goes with everything from city outfits like your best jeans and white T-shirts to rural garb like wellies or walking boots, rest assured this collection will tick the box.
You'll note the country-ready check finishes, too, from the linings of some styles to the pockets and cuffs of others. “The emphasis on the tartan this season really plays into Barbour's Scottish heritage, whilst adding a playful and ageless edge prominent in GANNI's designs,” Nicola Brown, Director of Womenswear at Barbour, said.
“Working with Barbour and being able to dive further into their archives to reimagine iconic styles with a GANNI twist has been so much fun, and we can't wait to see how people embrace these pieces,” said Ditte.
Barbour x GANNI 3.0 is on sale now across both brands' channels (i.e. ganni.com and barbour.com) and in select stores, but we have to warn you: act quickly if you want in. Much like the last two times they collaborated, everything is selling out with ~haste~.
