Sarah Michelle Gellar insists Freddie Prinze Jr. is "recovering" well after spinal surgery and laughed off his claims he had to learn to walk again.
At the beginning of the month, the 38-year-old actor told his Instagram followers that he had underwent spinal surgery and that he was learning to "walk again". His wife - with who he has children Charlotte, five, and Rocky, two - laughed off his claims he had to "learn to walk" again.
Asked how he was at Bill Horn's Annual Santa's Secret Workshop event in Los Angeles at the weekend, she said: "Oh my god, you mean Freddie that's like learning how to walk again?! My poor husband couldn't make it.
"By the way, he was coming, he was in tears. He was like 'I promised Bill and Scout they're so good to me, I have to be there.' But he's just so tired. I mean he did have spine surgery... But he's not learning now to walk. He's recovering."

The 37-year-old Buffy star admitted that the hysteria followed them to her doorstep - literally!
She told People : "I'm not joking, our mail woman - God bless her heart - was like, 'I prayed for you, Freddie, and it worked, you're walking.'"
"He's fine," she told reporters. "He did have very serious surgery, there's no question, but his learning how to walk again has been greatly exaggerated." And is the dad of two taking advantage of that as she helps him heal? "I plead the fifth," she said, laughing and nodding her head.
it will be Freddie looking after the family this Christmas.
She told E! News : "He'll be cooking. I handle Thanksgiving, Christmas will be all him."
