Netflix is about to drop its latest thriller, Fool Me Once, and it sounds delightfully absurd and utterly watchable.

Allow us to set the scene: a murdered husband mysteriously appears chilling in his old house on a secret nanny cam. Oh, and his uppity mother is played by none other than Joanna Lumley. That alone is enough to get us very, very excited. After all, it sounds absolutely fabulous — and also seriously spine-tingling.

Here's everything we know about the crime show so far.

What is Fool Me Once about?

Fool Me Once is based on a book by the prolific crime novelist Harlan Coben — you may recognise him as the man behind other thrillers like The Stranger, Shelter, I Will Find You and Stay Close. Coben also wrote and produced the Netflix adaptation.

“I’m thrilled and honoured to once again be collaborating with my uber-talented partners Danny [Brocklehurst], Nicola [Shindler] and Richard [Fee, all executive producers]," said Coben in a statement. “Fool Me Once will be our fourth Netflix series together, and man, it never gets old!”

He added that this one "is a pulse-pounder — a shocking story of how secrets and deceit have the power to bring people together while simultaneously tearing them apart. I can’t wait to see how this dream cast brings these characters to life.”

A quick plot synopsis: a happy young woman's life falls apart when she witnesses her husband's murder. However, things take a mysterious turn when she sees her dead husband sitting with their child on her nanny cam. Meanwhile, Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce's secrets begin to come to light, while another murder in the family from a few years earlier also complicates things even further.

Secrets! Murder! Mystery! We love it already.
