Knee-high boots are a classic accessory — and Eva Longoria knows it. And she also knows that when it comes to styling them, the best option is always to add other classic garments to the equation. Sometimes, basics call for more basics. You wouldn't add a synth to a Mozart symphony now would you?
In Longoria's latest look, she proves the principle that basics are sometimes all you need. Her ensemble consisted of a midi skirt, a turtleneck jumper and high boots — in other words, nothing we haven't seen before. Nevertheless, the actress manages to add her own little spin to the ultra classic look with a few clever details. Look closely, and you'll see that she has opted for a white jumper and a white skirt to create the illusion of a knit dress and, as a final touch, added a belt to refine the silhouette.
Rather than tucking the jumper in, she left it loose for a more classic look – which only makes the belted look more chic. Bravo.
It is not the first time – nor will it be the last time – that Eva Longoria has practiced the fine art of minimalism, either. Also in December, she wore a classic crisp shirt with a tailored, waist-cinching pair of black trousers – and in November, she rocked her ‘mom’ jeans at a handful events. But that doesn't mean she doesn't like a high-glamour moment, too… might we direct you to her full sequin gown at the recent Academy Gala? She's a girl that can do both.
