Emma Watson has hit back at her critics after she was pictured over the weekend with a dog whose hair was dyed pink.
The actress said that the claims of cruelty towards the pup were unfair - as the dog was dyed for charity and isn't even hers!
"Ayeye. Just to clarify one more time that I don't have a dog. @PinkDarcyDog is pink because her owner is raising money for breast cancer." Before adding: "#factcheckingtakesfiveminutes".
Stuart Simons, who dyed the dog, assured fans that the treatment was not harmful: "Pink is our biggest colour, but I do look after another bichon called Casper who comes in for a blue mohican." He said that the semi-permanent dye was harmless and is beetroot-based and completely animal friendly.
"I wet the dog, rub it on like a shampoo, leave it for five minutes and then wash it off. Because Darcy is white, it takes really well. She is a very calm dog, absolutely lovely, and she enjoys her groom."
