Happy birthday, Em Rata! The model and author just rang in her 32nd birthday in a surprising shade of eyeliner: bright, devilish crimson red!
Emily Ratajkowski marked the occasion with some sweet pics and videos on Instagram, including a few with her toddler son Sylvester Apollo Bear helping her blow out the candles. In lieu of classic black or deep brown, Ratajkowski wore a shimmery scarlet liner on both the inner corners and upper and lower lashlines of her brown eyes and smoked it out into a wing with a touch of brown shadow at both the lower lashline and outer corner for a smoldering effect.

She wore the red liner with a matching light red gloss and a coordinating flush of reddish-pink blush across her cheekbones and over her nose for a sunburned look — all of which worked beautifully with her lace-up black leather halter minidress. The iconic brunette wore her hair as she normally does, styled with curtain bangs to frame her forehead and a few ribbons of caramel highlights.

Ratajkowski may stick to her beauty basics for the most part, but she does enjoy a foray into the unexpected on occasion, like the disco curls she wore for a party or the pixie cut wig she wore for a photoshoot. For the Versace Fall/Winter 2023 show in Los Angeles, Ratajkowski and her fellow models wore sleek, bird of prey-inspired black eyeliner that made them look like the most glamorous goths ever, and that supersized liner may have inspired Emily Ratajkowski to attempt a slightly more subdued version on herself for her birthday.
The inner corner liner trend may be on the come-up again; Ratajkowski isn't the only celeb who recently gave it a spin. Rita Ora, quite the beauty chameleon herself, recently wore neon green shadow in the same spot to really liven up a more neutral eye. It's giving 2010s indie-era quirkiness in the best way ... maybe it's time to dig out my stash of colourful liner once more.
