The Inbetweeners star Emily Atack has admitted that she had a brief relationship with Harry Styles.

The actress and Harry were thought to have hooked up in May 2012 but Emily kept things under wraps, saying that they were never serious enough to call each other "boyfriend and girlfriend".

"We were never boyfriend and girlfriend. I think that's the first time I've ever admitted to what it was, because I've always just shrugged it off before," she said.

"But I think it's best to clear it up. So, yeah, we had a short-lived thing that was just a bit of fun. Then we went off in our opposite directions."

The 23-year-old said it had been "a laugh" with the pop star last year but admitted that Harry hadn't been in touch since their "brief" romance.

"Harry and I had a laugh. It was brief, but fun, and then we moved on. We haven't spoken in a while - he's one of the most famous people in the world now."

Emily admitted having a crush on Harry, way back in 2010, when he was still on the X Factor.

"Does Harry from One Direction HAVE to be 16?! Let's pretend he's 18 at least! Then there would only be One Direction he would be going... to the bedroom," she wrote on her Twitter.

Harry has been romantically linked to Cara Delevingne, Taylor Swift, Caroline Flack and Natalie Imbruglia, and last month address the rumours about his relationship with Nick Grimshaw.

"Oh, really? I didn't even know. We're not dating, no. We're just friends. Bisexual? Me? I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I'm not," he told GQ magazine.
