Meghann Fahy is back on our screens, this time as the lead in Drop – which tells the story of a woman out on an important first date, who is suddenly attacked with threatening AirDrop messages.
Also starring It Ends with Us actor Brandon Sklenar and from the producers of doll horror M3GAN, Drop sees Fahy's Violet faced with a horrific choice. Her digital attacker wants her to kill her date Henry (Skenlar), or the lives of her son and babysitter sister will be in danger. A real nightmare date, some would say.
After winning our hearts in both The Bold Type and The White Lotus, this is Fahy's time to shine as a movie lead, and Drop director Christopher Landon couldn't be happier about this opportunity for her.
“Hollywood will see her in a very different way," he predicted to The Cut about the impact of her performance. "They’re going to see that she’s actually a leading lady. She’s a movie star.”

Drop plot
“First dates are nerve-wracking enough. Going on a first date while an unnamed, unseen troll pings you personal memes that escalate from annoying to homicidal? Blood-chilling,” Drop's plot synopsis reads.
"Emmy nominee Meghann Fahy, breakout star of White Lotus and The Perfect Couple, plays Violet, a widowed mother on her first date in years, who arrives at an upscale restaurant where she is relieved that her date, Henry (It Ends with Us’ Brandon Sklenar) is more charming and handsome than she expected. But their chemistry begins to curdle as Violet begins being irritated and then terrorised by a series of anonymous drops to her phone.
“She is instructed to tell nobody and follow instructions or the hooded figure she sees on her home security cameras will kill Violet’s young son and babysitting sister. Violet must do exactly as directed or everyone she loves will die. Her unseen tormentor’s final directive? Kill Henry.”
All early reviewers have praised Meghann for her performance, we can't wait to see her as a leading lady in this horror thriller.
She opened up herself to The Cut about what drew her to the role. “The thing that attracted me to the script was that it felt like an old-school thriller,” she said. “I was really excited by it being something I’ve never done before.”

Joining Meghann and Brandon will be Violett Beane (Truth or Dare), newcomer Jacob Robinson as Violet’s son, Toby, Reed Diamond (Moneyball), Gabrielle Ryan, Jefferay Self, Ed Weeks (The Mindy Project) and Travis Nelson.
