There's no better pastime than testing out the coolest new skincare/makeup/hair trends and snazzy innovations in beauty tech from the comfort of your own home. That said, there's nothing more frustrating than spending upwards of £100 on a new at-home facial system or snazzy pair of hair straighteners, only to find out they don't *actually* work.
Enter: GLAMOUR Tries, the weekly Instagram series which sees GLAMOUR editors do all of the time-consuming (and expensive) work for you.
Yep, we've been busy trying out all of the wacky and wonderful beauty crazes to take the internet (read: TikTok) by storm – from the YSL lipstick printer to Il Makiage's iconic foundation and even the viral Hair Bedazzler tool from Amazon. These are the products every influencer/Gen-Z beauty sleuth/beauty editor is talking about on the internet – but that you want to be sure about before parting with your money.
Thanks to GLAMOUR Tries, you won't need to waste your hard-earned pennies on testing these innovations yourself. We're getting in their first, giving you the lowdown and making sure you invest in products that genuinely work.
Sultry vs. innocent.

And this week, our Associate Beauty Director Lottie Winter decided to test out the Dior Forever Rouge lipstick, a TikTok sensation that's gone viral for its transfer-proof formula, which is something that's not exactly revolutionary when it comes to liquid lipsticks, but solid lipsticks? That's crazy if you ask us. There are 22 shades available in total, all featuring a super-pigmented formula with a matte and transfer-free finish that is meant to last you for up to 16 hours – no re-application needed for a whole day! That's already a win in our book.
For her shade, Lottie opted for a bold red colour named 742 Sisterhood. As soon as she starts applying the lipstick, we can definitely see a lot of pigment going on, right away.
“I really loaded it on to give it a good test, let's see how it does,” she says as the video cuts to her putting the lipstick to the transfer test against an ordinary paper towel. Low and behold, there was no residue at all.
“Pretty impressive,” she notes. “Let's see how it does with drinking,” she says as she takes a sip of water from a clear glass. And guess what? There was no smudging or any sign of lipstick print at all. “Yep, passed that test easily,” she approves.
Next, Lottie proceeds to rub her hand across her face to “really smudge it up.” And just as expected, her lipstick stayed in place perfectly: “Nope, still not budging! Pretty impressive,” she concludes.
