Arriving at GLAMOUR's 2022 Women of the Year Awards in partnership with Samsung on Tuesday evening to present our Fashion Designer of the Year with her award, Dina Asher-Smith truly understood the assignment.

Speaking to GLAMOUR UK on the red carpet, Dina revealed that she was, of course, wearing a gown by award-winner Nensi Dojaka. But not just any Nensi gown, this was a custom number. “I'm wearing a custom Nensi today,” she shared excitedly. “I'm so fortunate to join the very small list of people that have been able to get a custom Nensi piece - I feel really special.”

A sheer brown gown with several cut-outs and bustier detailing true to that of the brand's DNA, this was a true stand-out fashion moment, not only of the evening but of all 2022 red carpets.

“The glam was done by my long time makeup artist Hila Karmand, she's absolutely amazing. I feel great, lots of brown, really leaning into the mood of the dress and also my own personal mood. I've dyed my hair recently and I'm just very much in the chocolate brown mood.”

Presenting Nensi with her award, Dina made a beautiful speech in tribute to the fashion designer capturing the world's heart.

“This designer has fast raised the feathered and fluffy brows of fashion editors and A-Listers alike, with fans from Zendaya to Bella Hadid to Beyoncé and… me tonight! After studying at Central St Martins, she launched her own label in 2019 and went on to rock the fashion world with her Autumn/Winter collection in 2020.”

“Her 90s, lingerie-inspired aesthetic redefines the way we, as women, dress, claiming our bodies for our own and subverting a tired and old male gaze that, let's be honest, we have absolutely no time for.”

“In the words of Caroline Rush - Chief Executive of the British fashion Council, “Nensi’s meteoric rise to fame has been nothing short of extraordinary, and, clearly, we all agree because this season, as many of the fashion heads know, she was the *number one* viewed show on Vogue Runway, ahead of Prada, Bottega, Miu Miu… all of them. She was number one.”
