GLAMOUR Women of the Year Awards is back IRL for the first time in five years. On Tuesday 8th November, 250 winners, presenters and guests will gather together in London to present an award to 10 game-changing women for their services to their sector and for lifting up and changing the world for women everywhere. Because let’s face it, the world right now is still not safe for women. It’s not equal. And we still have a lot of work to do to make this happen.
This is a full-circle moment for me, as I was lucky to work on the first awards 17 years ago when it started in the UK. Back then, it was a magazine that fitted into your life and your handbag, and while we have gone digital-first in the last five years, we still bring you your daily dose of empowerment by challenging the status quo through women-led stories and experiences (and we still fit into your bag, just now via your phone instead.)
The most empowering night of the year is back.

The way you read GLAMOUR may have changed, but equality has always been at the very heart of what we do. And the past year has shown championing equality is needed now more than ever. Women’s rights are being attacked across the world – from abortion rights in the US and in some counties in Europe; to a rise in male violence against women in the UK; as well as the ever-worrying wage gap and adverse effect the pandemic had on women in work. And as a woman of Iranian heritage, my family has personally experienced what happens when misogynistic leaders take control.
That’s why I’m so proud to shine a light on women who are fighting for women and girls in their fields today and for generations to come. I can’t wait to share their names with you on the 8th at the GLAMOUR Women of the Year Awards.
