Manchester might be a far cry from Cheryl Cole's Geordie roots but it's been announced that the singer is set to make a cameo appearance in Coronation Street.
Chezza will star in a specially-written sketch, where she arrives in Weatherfield and heads for the Rovers Return, looking for her childhood friend, barmaid Tina (played by Michelle Keegan).
The episode will form part of ITV's Text Santa campaign, which raises money and awareness for six UK-based charities, Age UK, Barnardo's, BeatBullying, British Heart Foundation, CLIC Sargent and Help the Hospices.
