Chanel hosted its autumn/winter 2017 couture show this morning in Paris - always an event of spectacular proportions.
Today's outing saw Karl Lagerfeld recreate the brand's atelier, complete with cutting tables, bolts of silk and taffeta fabric and seamstresses who sat quietly at Singer sewing machines. Models emerged fresh from fittings. It was a celebration of the unsung heroes of the couture world, the artisans who spent weeks crafting fashion's most ornate creations.
