It’s out with the long locks and in with the short styles as bob hairstyles are set to take this season/year by storm. According to hairdressers at Larry King salon, shorter, fresher ‘dos are in-demand with countless clients asking for the chop ahead of the warmer weather.
Just look to social medial for proof - where you’ll be flooded with posts showcasing the sliced bob, blunt bobs, shaggy bobs and the paper-cut bob. And that’s not all! The French bob, the shattered bob, the micro bob, the collarbone bob and the asymmetrical bob are all trending, too.

Looking for the next big bob trend but want to avoid following the crowd? It's time to get acquainted with the boy band bob - and before you start freaking out - no, you won't resemble Nick Carter from Backstreet Boys circa 1996.
According to Frederic Fekkai Stylist, Rita Markarian, hordes of customers are requesting the boy band bob in salons, so what exactly is it?

"The hair is shorter than a bob with longer pieces in the front that hit right around the cheekbones," she explains. "The longer pieces can be styled with fabulous hair accessories to really celebrate your personal style. It can be worn in the most simple, yet sophisticated and textured way, giving us extreme nostalgia."

In order to maintain the boy band bob, Rita suggests consistently using a glossing shampoo as it will give the hair a continuous beautiful shine, as well as allowing the hair to be smooth. "Cutting a lot of your hair off is a big commitment and will naturally make your hair healthier, so it’s crucial to use a deep conditioning hair mask when washing your hair to enable your strands to stay strong for as long as possible."

She also suggests incorporating a texturising spray into your haircare regime to ensure your hair has volume and great texture. "A texturising spray will give your hair that ‘newly fresh cut and styled’ look," she adds.
