It may have been her silver screen debut, but Blue Ivy Carter was sure to pull up draped in gold to the world premiere of Disney's Mufasa: The Lion King.
'Tis the season to shine, and Blue Ivy got the memo. The 12-year-old gleamed as she posed on the red carpet at Hollywood's iconic Dolby Theatre on December 9, 2024. The rising star took the concept of evening wear up a notch, wearing a brushed gold gown with a draped heart neckline, twisted bodice, snatched waist, and a princess-worthy train custom-made by Christian Siriano.
Blue Ivy balanced all the drama of the dress with some honey-toned bohemian braids and a natural soft glam featuring a light smokey eye and blush pink lip gloss. To shine even brighter, she added gold body shimmer to her neck, shoulders, and arms.
After several live performances on Beyoncé's Renaissance world tour last year, Blue Ivy is no stranger to the spotlight, and that radiates in every shot, even when her mom joined her on the red carpet. Beyoncé wore her take on the black and gold theme of the evening. She shimmered in a golden polka dot black dress with a thigh-high slit and curved chest cut-out by Balmain.
They say that art imitates life, so it was touching to see the pair share a metallic moment to celebrate the anticipated release of the live animated prequel to 2019's The Lion King, where Blue Ivy stars as the voice of Princess Kiara, the eldest daughter of Queen Nala, played by Bey.
As any proud mom would, Beyoncé took to Instagram to congratulate Blue on her role as the voice of Kiara in the movie. "Your family could not be prouder. Keep shining," she wrote in the caption of Blue Ivy's red carpet pics. The film is set to release on December 20, just in time for the holidays, and we will be sat!
