Billie Eilish is known for her experimental approach to beauty. If there's one thing she's not, when it comes to putting a beauty look together, it's boring. The singer surprised everyone with her Holiday Barbie blonde bob at last year's Met Gala, channelling an old-school Marilyn Monroe vibe that was miles away from the slime green root pop she's served up previously. Not to mention the shag, flicked bob, baby bangs and interchanging hair colours – red, black, brown – she's served up in amongst them.
For this year's event which called for a “Gilded Glamour” dress code and referenced the Gilded Age of New York society at the end of the 19th century, Billie changed tack once again with a rock ‘n’ roll faux mohawk. The spiky updo made the most of Billie's shoulder-length hair and was paired with some eyebrow sweeping baby bottleneck bangs, to frame the singer's face.

To recreate create a low ponytail then pin the length of the ponytail up towards your crown, letting loose bits out to create some spiky texture and lock into place using hairspray.
Her rebel glam look toughened up the prim gilded-age outfit Billie chose for the evening. Her custom Gucci ensemble was entirely upcycled from used fabrics and bore a striking resemblance to a dress worn by Madam Poirson, the subject of an 1885 portrait by artist, John Sargent. “I just wanted to be as eco-friendly as possible,” Billie told Vogue's red-carpet host, La La Anthony, during the live stream.

Just another example of Billie understanding the assignment, but giving it her own unique spin.
