Congratulations are in store for Benedict Cumberbatch - no, wife Sophie Hunter hasn't given birth (YET!), he's been awarded a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
The actor, who missed out on a Best Actor Oscar to pal Eddie Redmayne in February, is set to receive a CBE on Saturday. The award is one rank below a knighthood and is in acknowledgement of his services to drama.
"Benedict is clearly very talented but a CBE is normally for those coming towards the end of their careers," a source said. John Hurt, for example, didn't get a CBE till he was 64. Benedict is only 28.
