Hadid emulated the Ice Spice's energy while lip-syncing her verse on a TikTok video posted on 23 February; the star of the show is her bottom lash line decked out in smudged blue-black eyeliner.
Daring eye makeup is having a major moment on the runway and on social media right now — especially puppy eyeliner, the slightly downturned take on the cat-eye that's been worn by Billie Eilish, Jenna Ortega, and now Hadid. The model's smudgy iteration of the look gave her eyes a bold, “worn-in” effect — she may have even blended some eye shadow below the bottom lashline.
If only the trendsetter had also shown off the chunky Y2K highlights she debuted on February 20 in her latest elevator TikTok. Thick liner and bold highlights in one look? We'd immediately get flashbacks to episodes of The O.C., bedazzled flip phones, and low-rise jeans no one could actually fit into.
Because the puppy eyeliner look is designed to take up a chunky portion of the inner corner near the tear trough, it may be best to emulate the look with a pencil eyeliner rather than a liquid eyeliner.
