There are a lot of beauty gurus out there telling us that the secret to their most natural and amazing base is applying foundation using their fingers, and although sceptical, we’re intrigued.
Understandably applying foundation with fingers may sound like it would result in an uneven and patchy mess, not to mention that now you have foundation-stained fingers, however, according to TikTok, there is a method to what some may see as pure madness.
Some users suggest first applying the foundation using the end of a makeup brush (so that the foundation doesn’t cling on to a sponge or brush hairs) and then spreading it across the face as if you were applying moisturiser. Others opt for applying the foundation directly to the face from the bottle (be careful to not let the pump or bottle edge touch the face, for hygiene purposes) and massaging it in immediately after, before it drips off their face. While there are users who simply pop the product directly on their hands and rub them together to warm up the product and blend it to the face using the tips of their fingers. Either way, the magic happens when you buff the liquid foundation into the skin.

“It doesn’t require any additional tools and I find that it blends better into the skin and helps you better achieve that ‘I’m not wearing any foundation’ look,” says Bobbi. “It really helps when on the go or in a rush too. Most women don’t want to be overly made up — they want to use makeup to look better. And most women don’t want to look trendy — they want beauty products that are easy to apply and that basically just work. That transparent, naturally beautiful look feels more modern right now than a full face of makeup.” she adds.

Best tips on applying foundation using fingers?
“Anything works really” admits Bobbi. “Personally, I apply the foundation directly to my face and blend from there. I start on and around my nose where I tend to have redness and work my way out.”
