Yesterday, Angelina Jolie presented a lecture on Women, Peace and Security at the London School of Economics.
The actress and film-maker told the London Evening Standard that she was "a little nervous" and “feeling butterflies” beforehand. “I hope I do well," she said. "This is very important to me.”
The lecture was a preview of the Masters degree that she will officially begin teaching at LSE from September, as one of four visiting professors in practice.
Angelina, 41, is well known for her humanitarian work, campaigning particularly for the rights of refugees, women and children.
“I am very encouraged by the creation of this masters program,” she said last year. “I hope other academic institutions will follow this example, as it is vital that we broaden the discussion on how to advance women’s rights and end impunity for crimes that disproportionately affect women, such as sexual violence in conflict.”
