Amanda Seyfried is out to establish herself as a serious actor.

Since Mean Girls, the blond actress has been stacking her CV with a series of meatier roles: Chloe, Dear John (Nicholas Sparks, yes, and oh-so sentimental), then there was Oscars-sweeping Les Mis... And now Lovelace, in which she plays the eponymous 70s stripper.

But she's out to remind us that it's just a role, you guys, a fact her recent wardrobe underlines.

Let's take a look at Seyfried's latest fashion foray:

First up on Tuesday, the actress stepped out in a pale pink and white houndstooth outfit by Balmain and Rupert Sanderson heels. Conservative level: HIGH, this is mid-level politician perfect - high neckline, not too much skin and fuchsia lips.

Then it was a navy cha-cha number by Givenchy for the film's evening premiere at The Cinema Society. Conservative level: eh, 6? Sure, there's loads of fabric, and navy is quite mature, but hell, her shoulders are out.

While we didn't expect her to roll up in suede bootie shorts and a plunging halter, we were thinking something with a thigh-high split or lycra, no? At least A-Sey (we're pretty sure no one's ever called her that… And for good reason) is keeping it interesting, but we're hoping she opts for something a bit more swingin' with her next outing.
