The investment beauty buys the A-list insiders adore

With the beauty world as their oyster, this is what the insiders use.

If you had an access-all-areas pass to the best beauty advice and products in the industry, where would you head for investment beauty buys? That's the reality for many of Hollywood's elite. After all, when you're a model, or an actor, it's part of your job to keep your skin, hair and nails looking next-level.

In fact, we've come to expect insider advice from some open A-listers who have made beauty a hobby, and then a career. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, for instance, began by sharing elements of her beauty routine with followers on Instagram. When she launched Rose Inc, it was as much about platforming talent and beauty education (with her Artist in Residency series) as it was about sharing the makeup and skincare formulas she created. Over the course of her career, Rosie has become a trusted beauty encyclopaedia and influencer (plus, she's known for her bougie taste in everything from interiors to beauty products, and we're 100% fascinated).

Likewise, Hailey Bieber openly shared her makeup favourites and skincare heroes long before Rhode came into existence. Her struggle with skin sensitivity and life-long search for skin as glossy as a glazed donut became the impetus behind founding her own brand – backed up with the knowledge she'd learnt along the way from frequent catch-ups with derms and tentatively trialling the ingredients her skin could cope with. As for her makeup aesthetic, Hailey's preference for clean-girl formulas at high street and high end prices have helped give her recommendations authenticity, so when she drops a pricy endorsement it feels like she's genuinely sharing what's inside her makeup bag and medicine cabinet.

Meanwhile, model Jasmine Tookes, has tapped up TikTok in a big way to take us behind the scenes of her jet-setter lifestyle and the luxurious beauty products she uses to feel pulled together. Her regular GRWMs (and get unready with me's) have given fans an inside scoop on how she achieves her expensive-looking aesthetic. Plus, the guided tours of her beauty stash are mesmerising.

Intrigued? Below are some of the investment beauty buys the A-list insiders swear by…

Rosie has one of the most elite beauty collections you could come by, but with her acne-prone skin to contend with, it's ultra-considered. She previously told GLAMOUR her skincare routine is “all about hydration” and shared she loves SkinCeuticals' Silymarin CF serum, followed by moisturiser.

As for her hair, she told us that bleaching and post-baby hair loss made her rethink her routine. “My secret has been to go a little darker and back to my natural colour a bit more. Also keeping it all one length and not going in for any kind of complicated cut or too much layers. Just keeping my hair really hydrated, washing it less, styling it with hot air over hot tools. I'm a big, big, big fan of Olaplex hair products, which have really brought my hair back to life. I'm also a big Dyson fan. This morning I used the Airstrait for the first time, which is amazing – it took five minutes.”

And her immaculate manis are a regular feature on her grid. One reason for this is her regular manicures with luxury nail artist, Harriet Westmoreland, to keep her nails in perfect shape. But the colour itself is less bougie than you might think. “I'm pretty boring with my nails. I have literally worn Bubble Bath from OPI for 10 years,” she told GLAMOUR.

Finally, if you want an insider scent crowned by the model, earlier this year, she shared an Instagram post that revealed the Maison Crivelli Tubereuse Astrale fragrance nestled in her handbag. The brand remains an under-the-radar perfume house among those in the know, and her heady, sexy floral fragrance of choice is a show-stopper that blends elegant tuberose with spice and leather.

Zoe Kravitz

Zoe Kravitz tends to keep things low-key. While she's the face of YSL beauty, she tends to keep it tight-lipped about the rest of her beauty routine. But, she did spill one skincare brand she enjoys to GLAMOUR. “I love a hydrating mask,” she told us, adding, “Biologique [Recherche] has some really great ones that I love that make my skin feel really alive and and fresh. I love to steam and I usually will ice my face too. I feel like it helps with inflammation and kind of just wakes everything up. All that stuff is such good prep before you do your makeup.”

Speaking of makeup, Zoe took Vogue through her routine and the “incredible Pat McGrath highlighter” she taps up for extra glow. Alongside applying it to her cheekbones, she also uses it in the inner corners of her eyes. “Something I love about this is that it has a balm on the other side, so it's just nice to go over the highlighter with the balm. It blends it, makes it look less dry and adds to the highlight effect,” she explained.

Sadie Sink

Another A-lister who's a little coy about her beauty routine is Sadie Sink. Though she's been the face of Givenchy and Armani, Sadie told GLAMOUR, “When it comes to my everyday makeup look, I’m very minimal.” She explained: “I feel best when I don’t have anything on my eyes or skin, and I let my freckles show through. It took some experimentation before I found what works for me, but it feels good to have a look that is your staple go-to.”

As for holy grail products, she's big on conscious skincare. “May Lindstrom does great vegan skincare,” she told us. “I love to use the [Blue Cocoon] face oil – that’s the one product I’ll let myself splurge on. It’s really special, it makes me feel good and it smells amazing. I think it’s definitely important to look at how things are being made.”

Jasmine Tookes

We'll never not love Jasmine Tookes for taking us behind the scenes of her significant beauty stash. The model openly shares the formulas she's fallen for and her everyday favourites on the platform. In one TikTok video, she told followers. Those of you who have been following for a long time know that this [Armani Luminous Silk] foundation is my holy grail. In yet another video she shared more info on her shade and how she uses it. “Armani Luminous Silk 8.5. This one just adds a little more coverage so I focus it on areas that need a little bit more.” The £46 foundation is mid-range but the finish it gives is expensive.

As for skincare, Jasmine shared her heroes in a get unready with me. “One of my favourite cleansers, especially when I'm wearing glam [is] this Sulwhasoo Gentle Cleansing Oil. It's the best, I mean you can see that I use it all the time. It's so hydrating on the skin, it gets all of the makeup off. It literally just melts the makeup so well." Also from the brand she said: “I use the Sulwhasoo First Activating Serum. I'm just in love with Sulwhasoo and all of their products.”

For an extremely bougie skin boost, Jasmine shared: “One of my most favourite products ever is this [Chanel Sublimage L'Extrait de Nuit]. Every time I use this my skin is just insanely glowy the next morning. Lastly, to seal it all in, ReNutriv. I learned about this cream on a trip with Estee Lauder and ever since then I've been so hooked on the results.”

Hailey Bieber

Hailey mixes accessible picks from Milk Makeup and Nars, with investment formulas including her £260 favourite perfume. She told GLAMOUR, “When it comes to fragrance, I go between different perfumes, but I find myself always coming back to one. And that's the Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique. I've worn it for years now. It's quite heavy – like sexy but nice. I also like Bond No. 9 as a lot of their stuff is unisex. I like unisex scents.”

Since becoming a mum, Hailey confided that she loves skincare that can pep her complexion – including her Beauty Pie Rose Quartz Eye Mask, which she keeps in the fridge and uses after putting her skincare on. “I love anything that is cold, de-puffing… and obviously that helps with tired, sleepy eyes right now,” she told us. “You lay the mask over your eyes. That feels so good because you have the heaviness of the crystal and then it's cold and it just, oh my gosh, it's such an experience.”

As for makeup, she told Vogue: “This is the Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate. I've been using this for years, that's how much I love it. I don't like to do very harsh cuts with contour, I definitely lean more towards very hydrating creamy products because I do have dry and sensitive skin.”

And she doubled down on praise for the product when speaking to Harper's Bazaar. “This has a really nice contour and highlight inside of it. I love this product, I just bought a new one because I just finished my last one. What I'll do with this is I'll go in and highlight in the areas that I want to highlight and then what I like to do with this creamy contour part is I put it on my eyelids as kind of like an eyeshadow. It's really subtle and you can kind of build it out if you want it to be more intense, or if you want just a little bit of sheen on the eyes I think it's super, super nice.”

Finally, for her base, she loves the Chanel Les Beiges Foundation. “But I always mix my foundation with the Peptide Glazing Fluid to thin it out a little bit,” she told Harpers. “I'm not going to try to pronounce the name because I always get it wrong. I'm not a French girlie. My personal beauty philosophy has leaned into this less is more approach […] a more natural, glowy vibe. Nothing too heavy,” she explained.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka has acknowledged her privilege in getting to work with some of the best hair and makeup pros in the world, but when it comes to taking her beauty in-house there are a couple of products she swears by.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, she revealed that the Dyson Airwrap is her MVP. “This is an old one because this was a pandemic buy,” she noted. “I've had the good fortune of mostly having my hair done by incredible experts because I'm an actor, so I get to sit on the chairs of people who have done the most famous people's hair and models. When the pandemic happened and we were all locked down, I was promoting a movie […] I had a book tour, and I was launching my hair care Anomaly, so […] I had to do my own hair and makeup, and this [the Dyson Airwrap] saved my life. I wanted to do my hair myself and it made it super easy, so I'm emotionally attached.”

As for her skincare, Priyanka dubbed Augustinus Bader's The Rich Cream “amazing” adding “I always try and use it either in the day or night. It works really well under makeup, so if you're gonna have a day where you're wearing foundation, this is a really good product to have.”

Margot Robbie

Instagram content

Margot Robbie is known for her more minimal, relaxed Aussie girl aesthetic, but a core baseline to a pared-back makeup look is incredible skin. Margot told The Skincare Edit “one brand I’m obsessed with right now is 111Skin, which my makeup artist Pati Dubroff got me hooked on.” She continued, “They have these sheet masks, they’re made out of a jelly sort of stuff, and the serum they’re soaked in is so good. So when we’re getting ready for an event she’ll put one of those on while she’s doing my hair. The 111Skin Rose Gold Mask is unbelievable."

Margot also credited her glam squad for getting her onto the insider skincare heroes to know. “One of the great things about my job is that I’m lucky enough to work with so many amazing makeup artists who introduce me to new products, which means I switch up my skincare routine and makeup products quite a lot,” she told Marie Claire. “For moisturisers I love the La Prairie moisturiser and their eye cream is great too. I’m not a big fan of serums as my skin can be quite sensitive and sometimes it reacts to them but I do love facial mists,” she added.
