A seriously epic movie full of A-list Hollywood talent is coming. A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, starring Margot Robbie, Colin Farrell and Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge, is a film release you're not going to want to miss.
It sees Robbie and Farrell play a couple thrown together by circumstance and end up revisiting significant moments from their past to understand how they have defined them. Farrell told Vanity Fair: "This film is all about letting go of trauma — moving past it.”
Both Farrell and Robbie have spoken about how the experience of filming the movie had changed them. “We all arrived with open hearts. It was just easy," he said. "Just sharing our lives and our experiences, hopes and fears, joys and sorrows. Not to make it sound like a therapy session, but it was just an amazing experience that changed me for the better.”

Director Kogonada – who directed Apple TV+'s adaptation of Pachinko – has described the ways in which the film explores both past and future and how they intertwine. “This film is really about reckoning with your past in order to find the possibility of love in the present,” he says. “What do you have to reckon with in order to truly connect with other people? And I think as you get older, you realise your past has everything to do with how you understand love in the present.”
Robbie has described making A Big Bold Beautiful Journey as “one of the most magical experiences of my life”. “If audiences feel even a tiny slice of how magical it felt making this movie, then they’ll have the most incredible experience in the theatre,” she says. “Making this movie was truly one of the most magical experiences of my life.”

The official plot synopsis for the movie reads as follows: "What if you could open a doorway and walk through it to re-live a defining moment from your past?
“Sarah (Margot Robbie) and David (Colin Farrell) are single strangers who meet at a mutual friend’s wedding and soon, through a surprising twist of fate, find themselves on A Big Bold Beautiful Journey – a funny, fantastical, sweeping adventure together where they get to re-live important moments from their respective pasts, illuminating how they got to where they are in the present…and possibly getting a chance to alter their futures.”

There is so much to unpack from this trailer. First of all, the roles of both Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jodie Turner-Smith's roles are as yet unclear. We see Margot and Colin's characters meet at what looks to be a wedding. They connect, they go their separate ways, and are then brought back together by David's (Farrell) sat-nav, which ultimately seems to be an AI-style matchmaker. Creepy?
They set out on what the sat-nav itself calls “a big bold beautiful journey". Walking through various disembodied doors that appear as if out of nowhere, they relive key moments of heartbreak and grief. Will they be able to learn from the past and ultimately change their future?
The entire movie seems to have a dreamy, romantic vibe, helped along by the use of Gracie Abrams' beautiful track I miss you, I'm sorry in the trailer.
