Maggie Slepian

Maggie Slepian is a Montana-based outdoors and fitness writer who works at the intersection of recreation, culture, and mental health. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with an English degree, and has been writing and testing gear for nearly 15 years. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, Longreads, Outside Magazine, Women's Health, Huffington Post, and more. Her essays have been nominated for Best American Sports Writing as well as an ASME Award. Maggie has thru-hiked and bikepacked thousands of miles in the US and abroad, and is an avid runner, cyclist, backpacker, skier, and road tripper.
