Hannah Coates is a London-based freelance writer and editor. Specialising in beauty, wellness and lifestyle, she spent six years as beauty and wellness editor at British Vogue, before going freelance to work across a broader range of editorial and brand projects.
With over 13 years’ experience in the beauty industry, Hannah has interviewed some of the world's most in-demand names – including Gwyneth Paltrow, Cher, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jodie Comer and Julianne Moore – and has written agenda-setting stories that shaped cultural conversation around beauty and wellbeing.
Since going freelance, Hannah has written for a number of leading titles including Vogue, the New York Times' T Magazine, Sunday Times Style, The Guardian, HTSI, Vogue Business, Business of Beauty, Glamour, Elle and The Telegraph, covering beauty, health and wellbeing, skincare, trends and cultural observation.
Hannah is a passionate advocate that both beauty and wellbeing protocols are there to make us feel good, rather than feel time-consuming and punishing – and she prides herself on honest coverage that her readers can trust in.
When she’s not writing or working with brands, she loves gardening, trying out new restaurants, reading and hanging out with her corgi, Lenny. Find her on Instagram at @HannyCoates.
