Zara's new Studio collection looks *seriously* high end – here is our Fashion Editor's pick of the 21 best pieces
Zara is one of the most popular clothing stores on the British high street, but did you know that alongside its regular seasonal offering it also drops a biannual premium collection under the name of Zara Studio? If you didn't, then get ready for your high street sartorial expectations to be blown out of the water.
Developed by the brand's in-house atelier and the Zara design team - who this season worked with stylist Karl Templer to bring the clothes to life - this is a more elevated collection for the high street stalwart than its traditional lines, with a particularly high end aesthetic expressing Zara's seasonal point of view and attracting those customers with a slightly more distinctive dress sense. These aren't your staple ‘jeans and a t-shirt' looks by any means…
For autumn/winter 2021, Zara Studio is a real celebration of fabric and tactile textures, which sees sequins mixed with velvets, plaids playing alongside tweeds and faux furs. It's a sumptuous offering which puts just as much focus on the feel of a piece as it does the look.

Of course, that's not to take away from the limited edition collection's aesthetic, which is one of the strongest we've seen in several seasons.
Bold suiting, sharp lines and sheer fabrics speak to a confident self-assurance, while antiqued metal details and characterful accessories - from two-tone opera gloves to multi-buckled shoes - give the collection a richness and a feeling of vintage quality.
A real collection highlight has to be the sequinned skirt and top combo, which feature contrast frayed trims, a matching asymmetric hemline and a super chic straight neckline. Did someone say party season?
Joining it is a particularly epic embroidered coat, which sees sequin appliqués splashed across the traditional woven fabric, and a short-sleeved deep red velvet midi dress with sheer panels and a loosely-pleated skirt.
