March seemed to be the month for rants this year as Charlie Sheen joined the social networking site and immediately caused chaos. After clocking up 1.8m followers in just five days, the former Two And A Half Men star used his Twitter feed to host a webcast of his antics, dubbed “Sheen’s Korner”. During the various videos, he showed off his “winning” tattoo and hit back at a famous doctor who said that the actor was bipolar. “I'm not bi-polar, I'm bi-winning,” said Charlie. The star even encouraged Miley Cyrus to return to Twitter: "'Do not fear...the Sheenius is here!' I'm not gonna lie. I came back to twitter for 2 reasons [sic]. After going into labour, her celebrity pals Phillip Schofield and Fearne Cotton kept us in the loop about what was going on. "Latest news is that @hollywills is in labour." Jameela Jamil came in for criticism when she commented about Catherine Zeta-Jones in the wake of the news that she was suffering from bipolar disorder. "Catherine Zeta-Jones has just been admitted to rehab for bipolar disorder. I GUARANTEE it's just the menopause! Makes 40+ crazy," she wrote. Lily Allen became embroiled in another Twitter war this summer when she fell out with writer Julie Burchill over a favourable article she wrote on Cheryl Cole. "I adore the way she [Cheryl] spat back at that over-privileged cry-baby Lily Allen when the public-school tool took a poke at her way back in the day," wrote Julie in the article. Twitter showed its dark side in September when X Factor finalist Cher Lloyd received a death threat over the social network. The singer Tweeted: "Its mamma lloyds birthday!!! Love you mum! [sic]", before an anonymous @anthonylinney wrote: "Shut the fk up before I kill your mum in front of you." But Cher wasn’t scared off and replied: "I'm sure you'd go to jail for that, and get into deep st for a threat like that, come on think about it dumb ass." @anthonylinney panicked and deleted their account but not without leaving the star shaken: "I don't know why I let silly things like that get to me.
