Everyone who guest starred in Twin Peaks: The Return

Did you watch it to the end? Or, be honest, did watch it at all? It was one of the most hotly anticipated reboots of the year, and inspired endless think pieces (including by us - catch up on Twin Peaks : then and now) but it's pretty hard to find someone who actually tuned in to David Lynch's mind-bendy madness. For the record, I did, and it's totally worth the investment (and confusion. Think of some episodes like a meditation and let them wash over you, that's my advice.) But if you don't have the time, or the patience, there was also a roll call of big name cameos, which we've handily compiled here...
SKYAmanda Seyfried
As daughter of Double R waitress Shelly (Madchen Amick) and Bobby Briggs (Dana Ashbrook), she unfortunately displayed the same questionable taste as her mother in men (Shelly was married to violent, lank-ponytailed Leo Johnson when she got together with Bobby in the original series). Becky was married to violent drug addict Steven Burnett and lived in a run-down trailer, while frequently tapping up her long suffering - and sadly separated - parents for money.
SKYNaomi Watts
One of the true delights of the reboot was Naomi's Janey-E Jones, who was married to Cooper Doppelganger Dougie, and turned out to be Diane's half sister. (That's one of the less confusing plotlines.) A favourite of Lynch, Watts appeared in Mulholland Drive, and brought her A-game to the revival, playing Dougie's long-suffering wife with the perfect balance of Lynchonian (I just made that word up) soap opera melodrama and nuance.
Rex FeaturesDavid Bowie
The mighty David Bowie appeared in 1992 Twin Peaks film prequel Fire Walk with me as missing FBI agent Philip Jeffries, and reappeared in The Return via archive footage, in a dream sequence about the past. (Harry Goaz (Deputy Andy Brennan) said Bowie was due to film scenes for the revival, but didn't get to before his death. David Lynch dedicated the episode he appears in to the singer.) His voice was also used later when Jeffries became a giant tea kettle (yes, you read that right). From Starman to Cup of Char man, eh? (Sorry)
SKYBalthazar Getty
Getty made an appearance as tough guy drug dealer Red, whose special skills include karate and flipping coins, and who told Richard Horne (son of original cast member Audrey, played by Sherilyn Fenn) that he would "eat his brains" if he fucks him over. And he wasn't even the baddiest baddy in the show!
SKYCharlyne Li
Like many of the famous faces in the new season, Charlyne only made one appearance, but it was memorable. After being physically removed from a booth at the Bang Bang Bar by a couple of Hell's Angels, she crawled along the floor and screamed her head off. Why? Ask David Lynch, guys, it's above my pay grade.
YouTubeEddie Vedder
A bit of a cheat as he didn't act in the revival, and we could do a separate gallery of the Bang Bang Bar's musical performers in the show, but I used to really like Pearl Jam, so an honourable mention goes to the grunge singer, who performed under his birth name Edward Louis Severson.
SKYJennifer Jason Leigh
Leigh's Chantal was one half of Evil Coop's enforcement team, carrying out his evil deeds along with her husband Hutch (Tim Roth), after helping spring him from jail.
SKYJessica Szohr
Her semi-recurring role is a LONG way from Gossip Girl. She was Renee, a friend of Shelly's, who was also the subject of original character James's (James Hurley) unrequited love. She was also married to a wrong 'un, which seems to be an unfortunate shared trait of many of the Twin Peaks women.
SKYLaura Dern
YAASSSS!
We finally met the 'Diane' that Agent Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) spent the first two seasons talking to into his ever-present dictaphone. And she was AWESOME, rocking the strongest look of the reboot that included a platinum bob, ever-changing mani-inspo, wide-leg trousers, printed kimonos, pencil skirts and pointed flats. Plus we know it's not big or clever, but the fact that she chugged vodka, chain smoked, and regularly dropped the f-bomb made her the edgiest character too. Even when she turned out to be an evil replicant. Especially when she turned out to be an evil replicant.
SKYMichael Cera
Michael's Wally Brando was the baby Lucy Brennan, nee Moran, (Kimmy Robertson) was pregnant with twenty-five years ago in Twin Peaks second season. Wally was apparently born on Marlon Brando's birthday, and as such Cera showed up on a motorbike in full tribute to The Wild One. His scene - which helped explain some of the events of the intervening 25 years - was a perfect bit of light relief.
YouTubeMonica Belucci
Monica's one-off cameo saw her playing Monica Belucci, in Gordon Cole's (David Lynch) dream sequence. It helped him to discover some important stuff that's hard enough to explain if you've seen it, and impossible to explain if you haven't.
YouTubeSky Ferreira
Sky's was another one-episode appearance, and another roadhouse (Bang Bang Bar) scene. She turned up grungy and bedraggled, with a horrible rash under her armpit, that was audible when she scratched it. Grim.
SKYJim Belushi
Bizarrely, mobster Bradley Mitchum turned out to be one of the funniest characters of the new season. With his ever-present trio of powder-pink-clad almost silent cocktail waitresses, he originally set out to kill Dougie (slash-Coop), but instead he and his brother Rodney (Robert Knepper) became his firm champions and confidentes to him/them, while adding an endearing levity to every scene they appeared in.
SKYTim Roth
Chantal's redneck trigger-happy husband and Evil Coop's henchmen, Gary 'Hutch' Hutchens had a recurring role that ended in a blaze of bullets.
