Team GB gold medals: Our favourite moments

The Rio Paralympics have proven to be yet another epic success for Paralympic GB this year, with 29 gold medals already under their well-desrving belts.
Dame Sarah Storey, Ellie Simmonds and Hannah Cockroft are only some of Great Britian's Paralympic athletes contining their nation's success in the Rio 2016 Games. Following the incredible result for Team GB at the Olympics last month, Paralympic GB have demonstrated yet another tripumph. So let's take a look at all the gold medals won so far...

Sport: Paralympics Swimming
What you need to know about her:
21-year-old Ellie Simmonds competed at her first ever Paralympics at the age of 13 where she became national treasure as she won two gold medals for Team GB, despite being the youngest member of the team. She has since continued to shine in both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympics.
Paralympic Medals:
Ellie has won five Paralympic gold medals. She won two at the 2008 Beijing Games, another two at the London 2012 Games and won her fifth gold medal at the Rio 2016 Games.

Sport: Paralympic Wheelchair Sprinting
What you need to know about her:
Hannah is a British wheelchair splinter and holds the Paralympic and world record for 100 metres, 200 metres and 400 metres in her sport. She competed in her first Paralympic games at London 2012.
Paralympic Medals:
The London 2012 Paralympics saw Hannah win two gold medals for the 100 metre and 200 metre races. She has now won another gold for the 100 metre race at the Rio 2016 Games.

What you need to know about him:
Jonnie Peacock is a British Paralympic athlete specialising in the men’s 100 metre sprint. He competed in his first ever Paralympics at the London 2012 Games.
Paralympic Medals:
Jonnie has won two Paralympic gold medals for the men’s 100 metre race as he came first place in both the London 2012 Games and in the 2016 Rio Games.

Sport: Paralympic Cycling
What you need to know about her:
Dame Sarah Stoney is a track and field cyclist. She is the most successful female Paralympian of the modern era and currently holds 72 world records. Sarah is also a former professional swimmer and has even been a five-time world champion in the sport and won five Paralympic gold medals for it.
Paralympic Medals:
Sarah has won an outstanding 12 Paralympic gold medals including five for swimming and seven for cycling, winning for of those at the London 2012 Games.

What you need to know about her:
Georgina is a British athlete, specializing in T37 sprint events. She competed in the 2015 World Championships where she created a new world record.
Paralympic Medals:
Georgina won her first Paralympic gold medal at the Rio 2016 Games.

What you need to know about him:
Mo Farah became the most successful British track and field athlete after winning 5,000m race at the Rio Olympics. He is now a four-time Olympic medallist.
Olympic Medals:
Mo won two gold medals in the 5000m and 10,000m at the London 2012 Games and has once again won gold in the 10,000m and 5000m at the Rio 2016 Games.

Sport Boxing
What you need to know about her:
British boxer Nicola Adams is the first woman to win an Olympic boxing title and is not only the reigning Olympian for her sport, but also the World, European and Commonwealth flyweight champion.
Olympic Medals:
Nicola won her first gold medal at the London 2012 Games and defended her title by winning gold once again at the Rio 201 Games.

What you need to know about him:
Liam is a British canoeist and has competed in a number of European and World championships since 2010. He is currently the most successful British canoeist.
Olympic Medals:
Liam won a gold medal for the K-1 200m and a silver medal for K-2 200m at the Rio 2016 Games. He also won a bronze medal for K-2 200 at the London 2012 Games.

Sport Field Hockey
What you need to know about them:
Team GB’s women’s hockey team made history at the Rio Olympics as they won the first ever gold medal in their sport for Great Britain during a dramatic shootout with previous champions, the Netherlands. The team captain Kate Richardson-Walsh and wife Helen Richardson-Walsh, have become the first married couple to have won Britain a gold medal together since 1920.
Olympic Medals:
The Women’s hockey team won their first gold medal at the Rio 2016 games.

Sport Show jumping, Equestrian
What you need to know about him:
British equestrian Nick Skelton has won numerous European championships for his sport and currently holds the British Show Jumping High Jump record.
Olympic Medals:
Nick won his first Olympic gold medal for team jumping at the London 2012 Games. At the Rio 201 Games, he won his second gold medal for individual jumping.

Sport Taekwondo
What you need to know about her:
Jade is a Welsh a taekwondo Olympic champion. She competed in her first Olympic Game at London 2012 where she won Team GB’s first gold medal in taekwondo. She defended her title by once again winning gold at the Rio Games.
Olympic Medals:
Jade has two gold medals for women’s taekwondo from both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games.

Sport Triathlon
What you need to know about him:
Alistair is a British triathlete and current Triathlon champion. He has won 19 professional medals for his sport, including 16 gold

Alistair has won two gold medals for Triathlon as he won both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 competitions.

Sport Sailing
What you need to know about them:
Essex’s finest sailors Hannah and Saskia won a silver medal for their sport at the London 2012 Games. But Day 13 of the Rio Olympics saw the women win their first Olympic gold medal together.

The pair have won a gold medal for the Women’s 470 at the Rio 2016 Games.

What you need to know about her:
Laura is now Britain’s most successful Olympian after winning her fourth gold medal in the Omnium on Day 11 of the Rio Games. Since appearing in the 2010 European Track Championship, she has won a total of 29 medals.
Olympic medals:
Laura has won four Olympic gold medals, coming first place in both Team Pursuit and the Omnium at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games.

What you need to know about him:
The British cyclist is now a six time Olympic gold champion after winning his third gold medal in keirin on Day 11 of the Rio Games.
Olympic Medals:
Kenny has won three gold medals with Team Spirit at the Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 201 Games. He has also won a gold medal for individual sprint at the London 2012 and two gold medals at the Rio 201 Games. He also has a silver medal for individual sprint at the Beijing 2008 Games.

What you need to know about him:
Giles is a four-time Finn Gold Cup winner and now succeeds Sir Ben Aisle who has won three previous titles. Despite missing out on the London 2012 Games, Giles gained Team GB their fifth Olympic title in the Finn competition.
Olympic Medals:
Giles has won one gold medal at the Rio 2016 Games.

What you need to know about her:
Charlotte is the most successful British dressage rider in the history of the sport. She currently holds the complete set of the available individual elite dressage titles and is the only one to ever have done so.
Olympic Medals:
Charlotte has three gold medals: two for individual and team dressage at the London 2012 Games and one for the individual dressage at the Rio 2016 Games, where she also won a silver medal for the team dressage.

What you need to know about him:
Professional golfer Justin Rose made history for Team GB when he became the first Olympic golf champion since 1904, when he won gold in the men’s individual tournament.
Olympic medals:
He won his first gold medal at the Rio 201 Games.

What you need to know about him:
The British cyclist has become a five time Olympic gold champion after winning two gold medals at the Rio Games. He defended his 2012 title against his Team GB teammate Callum Skinner in the men’s individual sprint finals, placing him among the greats like Sir Steve Redgrave and Sir Bradley Wiggins.Olympic Medals:
Kenny has won three gold medals with Team Spirit at the Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 201 Games. He has also won two gold medals for individual sprint at the London 2012 and Rio 201 games, as well as one silver medal at the for individual sprint at the Beijing 2008 Games.

What you need to know about him:
Artistic gymnast Max Whitlock is the reigning world champion and Britain’s first ever gold medalist in gymnastics after coming first in both the men’s floor and pommel horse exercises at Rio.
Olympic medals:
Whitlock is a five time Olympic medalist having won two bronze medals at the London 2012 Games, as well as one bronze and two gold medals at the Rio 2016 Games.

Sport: Cycling
What you need to know about them:
Laura Trott, Joanna Rowsell-Shand, Elinor Barker and Katie Archibald make up Team GB’s cycling women’s pursuit team. They beat their own world record for the third time by two seconds and defended their title against USA. Trott also made history as she became the first British woman to win three gold Olympic medals.
Olympic Medals:
Team pursuit won gold in both the London 2012 and Rio 201 Games.

What you need to know about them:
Team GB men’s eight rowing team is made up of three-time Olympic medallists Pete Reed and Andrew Triggs-Hodge (who were also part of the gold winning Team GB men’s four in Beijing and London) as well as Scott Durant, Tom Ransley, Matt Gotrel, Paul Bennett, Matt Langridge, Will Satch and cox Phelan Hill.
Olympic Medals:
The men’s eight team won bronze at the London 2012 Games and gold at the Rio 2016 Games.

What you need to know about him:
Mo Farah is the second man in history to win long-distance doubles at successive Olympics and is the first person in history to have done the “triple-double when he won the 5,000m and 10,000m races at successive world championships last year.
Olympic Medals:
He won two gold medals in the 5000m and 10,000m at the London 2012 Games and has once again won gold in the 10,000m for Team GB in the Rio 2016 Games.

Sport: Rowing
What you need to know about them:
The Team GB men’s coxlessfour is made up of Alex Gregory, Mohamed Sbihi, George Nash and Constantine Louloudis. The team won their fifth Olympic gold medal at Rio, making Team GB the unbeaten men’s coxless four champions since the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Olympic Medals:
The team has won five consecutive gold medals at the Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games.

What you need to know about them:
The team spirit trio is made up Jason Kenny, Phil Hindes and Callum Skinner. The cyclist retained their men’s pursuit title by winning gold in the final against New Zealand.

Team GG won gold in the Team Spirit race at the Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games.

What you need to know about him:
Scottish tennis player Andy Murray is a three time Grand Slam champion, two-time Olympic winner, Davis Cup champion and number two player in the world for singles tennis.
Olympic medals:
Murray has won two gold medals for the men’s singles, his first one was at the London 2012 Games and the second was in Rio.

What you need to know about them:
Competing in the women’s coxless pair, Helen Glover and Heather Stanning defended their title in the Rio 2016 Games by winning gold. Glover and Stanning are now unbeaten in 39 races since the World Championships in 2011.
Olympic Medals:
Helen and Heather have won gold in both the London 2012 and the Rio 2016 Games.

What you need to know about them:
The Rio men’s team pursuit includes Sir Bradley Wiggins, Ed Clancy, Steven Burke, Mark Cavendish and Owain Doult. Ed Clancy and Steven Burke were also apart of Team GB’s London 2012 team pursuit where they won gold. At the Rio Games, the men defended their title by winning gold once again.
Olympic Medals:
Team GB won gold in the Men’s Team Pursuit race at the Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games. At the 2004 Athens Games, Team GB won silver.

What you need to know about them:
Jack and Chris’ forward 2 1/2 somersault 3 twists dive also known as “the washing machine” is the most difficult in the world and had never been done by a synchronised pair before they took on the challenge at the Rio Olympics this year.
Olympic Medals:
They both have one gold medal after winning the Men’s synchronised springboard diving at the Rio Games.
