The 1975 just performed their new song The Sound and simultaneously sent a collective 'WTF?!' across Twitter, when flashing messages of 'cringe-worthy', 'terrible high-pitched vocals over soulless robo beats' and 'genuinely laughable' popped up on the screens behind them.

It would seem like someone on the Brits production team really hates The 1975, right? WRONG.

Apparently the messages are quotes from the band's critics, which were purposely put on the screen as a massive 'F you' to their critics. Bold, and we love it.
