10 New Looks For The New Season
Need a little help creating the biggest SS13 hair trends at home? Enter the glam squad, five of our favourite hairdressers, who have each given us easy five-step guides to two on-trend catwalk looks each. Go, go, go!
TREND: The Perfect Chignon by Asgar
What you will need: round brush or paddle brush; coated elastic band; six bobby pins.
1. Blow-dry hair smooth with either a large round brush or a paddle brush.
2. Brush hair away from the face and tie into a ponytail using a coated elastic band.
3. Separate ponytail into two sections and gently tug to secure the band.

4. Twist your pony tail from top to bottom and then tuck the end under the knot and secure with bobby pins.
5. Now that you have created the perfect knot finish off with a little hairspray and shine spray.

GoRunwayTREND: Super-Straight by Asgar
What you will need: hairdryer; heat protector, flat irons, serum.
1. Using a large round brush or paddle brush separate wet hair into sections starting from underneath.
2. When blow drying hair remember to keep the hairdryer a few inches away from the brush.
3. Use flat irons to achieve silky hair but remember to use a heat protection spray.

4. Use a small amount of serum to prevent frizz.

GoRunwayTREND: Wet-Look by Kenna
1. To get this two toned texture look you need to first create an overall smooth, sleek, straight texture.
2. Liberally apply ghd Style Straight and Smooth Spray then using your ghd Air, blow-dry the hair smooth, training the roots back towards the crown curving your hair to the shape of your head.
3. Next take small sections of hair from around your ears, spray down with ghd Style Final Fix Hairspray and secure with a small pin hidden behind the ear. (This is to ensure the separate shape of the top is defined).

4. Now on to that raked, wet-look top section. Add a generous amount of ghd Style Root Lift Spray right at the roots and distribute backwards using a de-tangling comb. This will give great definition through that wet texture. You can dry this in place by putting your ghd Air onto a medium setting.
5. Finish the look using hairspray to hold the top in place and run your ghd V Gold Classic Styler over the ends for a sharp finish.

“I love this style from Giorgio Armani SS13, it’s a great example of how a simple side parting can be amplified by creating a different direction on each side.”
1. It is a really shiny look so you want to start with a gorgeous blow dry coming from that side parting (just above temple straight back to crown). First apply ghd Style Total Volume Foam to wet hair and then dry thoroughly using a large round brush to get a bit of lift away from the scalp.
2. Create two sections by continuing the end of the parting (which should end at the top of the crown) back towards the top of the opposite ear and clip the top section out of the way.
3. Use a ghd Oval Dressing Brush to sweep back this larger lower section to the centre back of the head, gathering at the occipital bone and spray with plenty of ghd Style Final Fix hairspray. You can get those fine comb marks using a tail comb. On the catwalk the back of this hairstyle got covered with a hat but you can finish with a pony or french twist so for a fun and easy spring look, tie off with an elastic for some bounce in the back.

4. Next, release the top section and divide horizontally into two equally sized sections. Take your ghd V Gold Classic Styler and starting with the bottom section; pass the hair through the plates pulling in a forward motion at 45 degrees. Once you reach temple level, turn the styler 90 degrees for that little flick and pin up in that direction to cool. Repeat the same motion on the remaining top section.
5. Use a Tail Comb and ghd Style Final Fix Hair Spray to loosely join to pony and attach with more elastic. I would recommend adding a little twist to the end of the pony with the styler to mirror that lovely front shape over the ear.

GoRunwayTREND: Undone Low Bun by Aaron Carlo
“This look is all about a chic undone elegance. Very baroque and simple, great to take you from work to evening.”
1. Prep hair with Headmasters Big Glam Hair Root Boost Mousse (£4.99) then some Headmasters Big Glam Hair Style Extend Dry Shampoo (£2.99) for a lightweight airy texture.
2. Put in parting with comb, a middle or just off centre parting will give any look an instantly more youthful relaxed feeling.
3. Brush hair down into the nape of the neckband secure using a bungee. Always make sure ponytails are tight at the nape as exposing the neck will make any low style much sexier.

4. Massage hairline and pull out wispy hair, then pinch and pull the roots to add fullness.
5. Wrap ends around into a knot and secure with thick chignon pins. These can be difficult to come by but Boots do great ones called 'Thick Waved Pins' that are cheap and hold lots of hair.

“Perfect for a night out, the key thing here is texture; it should look lightweight and windswept to make it cool rather than too done.”
1. Prep hair well using a round bristle brush and Headmasters Big Glam Hair Root Boost Mousse (£4.99) for loads of volume, and add some Headmasters Colour Brilliance Frizz Free Glossing Serum (£5.99) on the ends to keep it looking healthy.
2. Get a medium Babyliss tong and wind random sections all away from the face for luxe waves.
3. Put in the deep side part, which instantly adds a grown-up glamorous feel to any style, and spray hair with Headmasters Big Glam Hair Style Extend dry shampoo (£2.99). Then take a teardrop section around the top of the head with the point at the back.

4. Back comb the roots of this whole section using a pastiche brush, not a comb, a comb will damage the hair and make it harder to brush out later on whereas a pastiche brush will keep it light weight and soft.
5. Then flick that section back using the end of your brush to blend the back combing and slightly twist at the back of the head and secure with classic grips. Take the larger side and gently sweep back to create shape around the front and lightly secure with fine pins. Finish with a lightweight spray like Headmasters Big Glam Hair Catwalk Hold Hairspray (£4.99).

GoRunwayTREND: Cool Braids by Errol Douglas
1. It's important to get the sectioning right on this. Divide the back into 3 sections: Top from temple to crown (1) & two sections made from the back of the hair (2 & 3). Use a transparent band to tie section one in a small hidden ponytail that rests under the plait.
2. Plait the top of the two sections from crown to nape.
3. Scrape from all three sections together and join with a small band.

4. Use Moroccanoil Luminous Spray when the hair is damp to mould and hold as you work.
5. Finish with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine as the last step on the now dry style just for polished finish.

“The ponytails at the Christian Dior Show had an edgy feel with the hair being pulled directly off the face with a wet look finish at the root with the main ponytail being straight, full of volume and texture.”
1. The fullness and texture of this look is achieved by the blow-dry, not through straightening the hair with irons. Prep the hair with a heat protecting smoothing cream.
2. Apply a little wax or gel to the front top section of your hair just at the root and brush the hair straight off the face, ensuring the hair off the face is smooth and even.
3. Secure the hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck using an elastic.

4. If your hair is fine and you want to add a little volume, backcomb the centre of your ponytail and then smooth over with a grooming brush to give the illusion of thicker hair.
5. Smooth any fly-aways with your hand and a little Electric serum and finish with fixing hairspray.

“This is a super cute 60's influenced up-do that can be achieved with medium and long hair but also a great way to wear a crop with longer fringe.”
1. Always start with freshly-cleansed hair and prep with Electric prep spray. Blow-dry your fringe first using a paddle brush to smooth and achieve a deep sweep to the side, use the heat to get the hair to move and then blast with cold to set the hair, says celebrity hairstylist Mark Woolley.
2. Tease hair at the crown for volume and smooth over with a grooming brush.
3. Loosely pull the hair back with your hands into a ponytail at the nape of the neck - twist into a knot, bun or French twist, securing with hairpins.

4. Ensure you still have volume at the crown - if not, don't worry you can still gently tease the hair and smooth over again with a grooming brush, to get a photo-finish smooth a little serum over the fringe.
5. Finish with hair spray and add a hair band with satin bow.
