Maisie Williams just revealed when Game of Thrones will grace our screens again (and it's a lot earlier than you think)
If you've been waiting with baited breath for the return of Game of Thrones then Maisie Williams's revelation might just quash your intrigue.
The star of the hit show divulged the air date for the eighth and final season of her show - and it's earlier than you might think.
Speaking to Metro, she said: 'We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April [2019].'
Despite having to wait a whole 15 months until the new episodes grace our screens, Maisie assures fans that it will be worth the wait.
"That’s a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes. There’s a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all.
"We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities."
The exciting news comes after some equally exciting news: Maisie has been enlisted as Sophie Turner's bridesmaid.
Sophie Turner and are on-screen sisters and real-life celeb BFFs. From the moment they met when auditioning for Game of Thrones back in 2010, Sophie, then 14, and Maisie, 13, have been far more than just co-stars.
So it's hardly surprising that Sophie has asked Maisie to be a bridesmaid when she marries Joe Jonas.
When asked if she was hoping to be secure a bridesmaid position for the 21-year-old's nuptials to the pop heartthrob, Maisie told Radio Times: 'Oh, already got it. Yeah, it's very, very exciting. It’s kind of bizarre though.'
While Sophie and Joe haven't yet set a date for their big day, Maisie revealed it will be after Game Of Thrones' final season airs in 2019.
Maisie said: 'We're waiting 'til this season's done until we get into it. But I think she's already letting her little heart wander and imagine.'
The wedding will no doubt be a star-studded affair, with Joe set to select brothers Nick and Kevin as best men.
The best thing about Sophie and Maisie is that their friendship is everything you'd expect from two teenage girls, which is a tough feat considering their GOT super-stardom.
Instead of posey, heavily-filtered selfies, they prefer to post funny vines of them getting drunk or Insta-vids of Maisie stealing Sophie's phone. There's also their cute joint nickname (Mophie, which we'll be using forever more).
Just think how much fun must they have shooting Thrones. Imagine travelling to places like Spain, Morocco, Iceland, Croatia and Scotland for months at a time with your BFF?!
Anyway, here's all the reasons we love their friendship...
