Remember Ryan Gosling giggling at the Oscars blunder? It wasn't for the reason you thought...
You'll all remember the Oscars Best Picture blunder and the shocked expressions of all on stage when the moment unfolded. But while all around him recoiled in horror, Ryan Gosling was stifling giggles, and now, the La La Land actor has spoken about what exactly was going through his mind during the moment...
If your memory needs jogging, let us remind you. Forget 'Adele Dazeem', or Jennifer Lawrence falling up the stairs: the most embarrassing moment ever to hit the Academy occurred at the Oscars 2017 when La La Land was declared to have won Best Picture when Moonlight actually won.
Speaking at the Adobe Summit in Las Vegas on Wednesday, Gosling explained that his laughter on stage was out of relief that something more serious hadn't happen.
He said: "What really was happening as I was watching, it was surreal anyway, I was watching people start to have this panicked reaction in the crowd and guys were coming on with headsets and I felt like someone had been hurt".
"I thought there was some kind of medical situation, and I had this worst-case scenario playing out in my head.
"And then I just heard Moonlight won and I was so relieved that I started laughing."
Ryan was concerned someone had be hurt. We repeat: Ryan was concerned someone had be hurt. 😭❤️
Ryan continued by saying he was so happy for Moonlight: "It’s such a groundbreaking film and an incredible achievement and I’m so happy for them that they were being recognised," he explained.
