How to create a rainbow light filter: the ultra pretty trend taking Instagram by storm π
We've seen a number of Instagram trends come and go, from interesting filters to a multitude of bizarre and brilliant beauty trends. But this latest one, which is being called 'rainbow light filters' is possibly the prettiest one yet...
Using the refraction of light to create these beautiful technicolored effects, bloggers such as Chiara Ferragni have been wowing with their attempts.

But just how do you create your own look? We suggest following the below tips:
1. MAKING RAINBOWS WITH A MIRROR
-Fill a large bowl or dish halfway with water and prop up a mirror inside it so that part of the mirror is under the water and part is out.
-Place the rainbow maker near a sunny window with direct light coming in so that it hits the mirror (early morning or early evening light works best).
-Play around with holding a large white piece of paper above the maker to βcatchβ the rainbow. You might have to move a bit until you find it.
-Play around with moving the paper closer to the mirror and then farther away to see how your rainbow changes!
2. USING A CD
-Shine a phone torch light onto a CD and bounce the light onto the person
3. USING A PRISM
-Shooting through a prism in which three mirrors are pointing at each other taking in different parts of the scene
-Prisms can make rainbows: hold up your prism on a sunny day, or near a strong light. See where the rainbows land and snap a shot
