Exclusive! Nicole Richie Introduces Her SS12 Collections
The most stylish working mum in LA takes a break from her busy schedule to talk us exclusively through the Winter Kate and House Of Harlow 1960 spring/summer 2012 collections - plus, we couldn't resist mining her for a few styling tips!
What was the inspiration behind the collections?
"This season, I was inspired by the enchanting Souks of Marrakech, as well as Egyptian Sarcophagus."

Can you talk us through a few of your favourite pieces from the collections?
"The Winter Kate Kamala dress because the colour is so vibrant and it is super easy to wear. The Avanti bed jacket and matching Malati pants are great to wear on the beach. I love the House of Harlow 1960 Nancie shoe for red carpet events, and the Kail in gold for every day wear."

How involved are you in the design process?
"I am very much involved. My job ranges from creating the initial overall theme of the season, to developing fabrics ands ketching to sampling and fitting. I am extremely involved in the design process of both my brands, Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960. In addition to concepts/ designing, I am always kept up to date with any goings on from look books to selling and marketing initiatives."

"I think that British girls have a very eclectic and unique style."

How do you cope with balancing your work and family life?
"My husband and children keep me grounded and I work very closely with my brilliant team to build the brand. Scheduling is key."
