As the queen of clean, Mrs Hinch has turned the nation into a floor-scrubbing, Zoflora-sniffing, Minky-loving cleaning collective. If the latter sentence sounds more like a foreign language, allow me to introduce you to Sophie Hinchcliffe.
The 30-year-old self-professed 'cleaning mad' mother from Essex has amassed 3.2m Instagram followers, several book deals and lucrative brand endorsements thanks to her cleaning hacks.
Mrs Hinch maintains that her cleaning method, which she lovingly dubs 'hinching', can soothe anxiety and stress and transform your home into an oasis of order and calm.
Via her Instagram and books, she shares clever and purse-friendly hacks for creating a spotless home. From using bicarbonate of soda to remove stains to dousing your manky sponges in Zoflora, her ingenious tips have created an army of 'Hinchers'.
I was not convinced. I was perfectly content with my Domestos bleach and Cif Power Shine until my sister-in-law bought me Mrs Hinch's book, Hinch Yourself Happy: All The Best Cleaning Tips To Shine Your Sink And Soothe Your Soul, for Christmas. I took the hint.
After reading the book, I became one of those people I'd perennially mocked (sorry, sister-in-law). I was stockpiling Zoflora (a sweet smelling disinfectant) and Minkys (Mrs Hinch's tender name for a bog standard sponge) and asking myself 'who am I?'.
My newfound penchant for cleaning was, however, a revolution. Following Mrs Hinch's cleaning hacks and laboriously scrubbing away was strangely therapeutic and my house had never looked (nor smelt) better. My boyfriend was equally delighted with my newfound hobby.
