The morning routines of the rich and famous
Good days are usually dependent on whether you get up on the right side of bed, right? Clear mind, body and soul and all that. But, sometimes, it's easier said than done. Sleep is one of the most important things for the human body but with busy lives, stresses and responsibilities it can often be nigh on impossible to get 8 quality hours of shut-eye. Consequently, this has a direct knock-on effect on not only your morning, but your whole day.
This got us thinking - how do some of the world's most successful people ensure they give themselves the best start every day? They're pretty busy people, too. We've already checked out how the famous keep fit with exercise, and now we've done a little digging to see what morning habits we can steal. If you're thinking of making a change to get the most out of your life, why not follow the example made by these famous people?

Jen's definitely an early bird! She gets up at 4:30am, unless she's not working, where she might stay in bed until 8 or 9. She washes and moisturises her face, then meditates for twenty minutes. She always has a shake with maca powder and cacao with her breakfast and then she'll do a spin class for half an hour and then yoga for 40 minutes. And that's not all - "I do strength training or just my own thing on the treadmill, the bike, or the elliptical, just to change things up. Keeping your body confused is always the key for me." Wow, that's intense.

Given how much he's worth, we’re pretty game to copy whatever Mark Zuckerberg does. Reportedly the man gets up at 8am everyday (providing he hasn’t worked all night) and wears the same t-shirt to avoid wasting precious time deciding on an outfit. Hmm. We can totally get on board with the first tip but not so much the second. Picking what we wear is part of the fun, right?

Sadly, unless you own your own private island or holiday most of the year, adopting Richard Branson’s morning routine is slightly harder for the mere mortal. He takes a dip in the ocean, swimming the parameter of said island and then does a spot of kite surfing before finishing with some tennis. Man, he must feel energised. The one tip we can adopt? He sleeps with his curtains open so that he rises when the sun does.

Khloé gets up at 5am for her morning workout. She spends five minutes waking up and then brushes her teeth and freshens up by washing her face and putting sunscreen on. It takes her around 3 minutes to get ready, and then she heads downstairs for a green tea, a banana and a peanut butter pack. She then heads off to workout.

According to HuffPost, Kate wakes up between 6.30am and 7.30am, but always snoozes for 15 minutes. She turns on the coffee machine and heads back upstairs to watch Morning Joe. She takes the kids to school and then squeezes in a workout, before settling down to a breakfast of two soft-boiled eggs, half an avocado and different types of bacon: turkey, pork or veggie.

Sheryl knows that you can't have a good morning if you haven't had a good night's sleep. She turns off all technology (impressive from the CEO of Facebook!) at night so that there's no chance she'll be woken up. Only when she wakes will she allow herself to check her emails. Then the day begins.

According to Inc, Oprah starts her morning with twenty minutes of meditation, then hits the treadmill to get her heart pumping. She swears that at least fifteen minutes of exercise improves her productivity and boosts energy levels. She then does something to 'tune herself in', like going for a walk, listening to music or preparing a nice meal. She always eats a healthy meal full of complex carbohydrates, fibre and protein.

Talking to Bloomberg Businessweek, Schultz revealed that coffee plays a major role in his morning routine, naturally. He said: “I get up at 4.30am every morning to walk my three dogs and work out. Around 5.45am I make coffee for myself and my wife using an 8-cup Bodum French press.” We wish someone would make us coffee in the morning.
