Can't wait 'til next season to try the hottest catwalk trends? Neither could we, so we sent Style & Entertainment Editor Rebecca Cox to get a new season makeover from M.A.C. Senior Artist Caroline Donnelly.

Step one: Start by prepping lips with M.A.C Lip Conditioner and skin with Complete Comfort Cream. It’s really important to moisturise skin and prep for the foundation. Next apply M.A.C Face & Body Foundation.
© Piers MadonaldTouch up the brows using M.A.C Brow Pencil in Fling, brushing the colour in with the 219 Brush, and setting with Brow Fix. Curl lashes from the roots, up and out in a curve. Take Studio Fix lash in black and really build the root of the lashes up with this by wiggling the wand back and forth for volume. This gives the impression of thicker, but not heavily mascara'd lashes.
© Piers MadonaldApply new M.A.C Powder Blush in Immortal Flower and Modern Mandarin, using the brighter shade on the apples of the cheeks.
M.A.C Cream Colour Base in Pearl adds a beautiful glow to skin and is best applied with the finger tips. This way of application warms the product up and melts it into the skin leaving behind incredible luminosity, with no evidence of product. Apply this to bridge of nose, cheekbones, cupid's bow, inner corners of eyes (though not inside the eyes) and eye lids. Substitute Pearl with Improper Copper if you have a dark skin tone.
© Piers MadonaldI used a new lip palette out next spring and combined an ice cream pink with a touch of lilac from that palette for a contrasting cool lip against the warm cheeks but if you want to do it now, use Pervette lipstick to substitute. The lips are primed for colour using a touch of Lip Conditioner, followed by a little of the left over foundation and then the colour is patted over the top using finger tips so that application is not too heavy.
© Piers MadonaldFinally, using a 225 brush, which is a very small version of a big powder brush, use Prep and Prime Pressed powder near the nostrils and under the eyes.
