The new Line of Duty trailer is HERE and it’s giving us chills
Line of Duty is back and if the new trailer is anything to go by, you are about to get a heavy serving of drama.
The fifth season of the cop drama which follows AC-12, a unit of the police who investigate corrupt internal behaviour, will make an explosive return to BBC 1 soon with show favourites Vicky McClure (Kate Fleming), Martin Compston (Steve Arnott) and Adrian Dunbar (Ted Hastings). Expect more ‘edge of your sofa’ long police interviews AND more intrigue than a jolly good game of Cluedo.
We barely have any nails left after watching the intense one-minute teaser which reveals the series will follow the story of three police officers being killed following a hijack by a group of people wearing scary AF balaclavas. But it wouldn’t be Line of Duty if there wasn’t an internal police mole. Naturally.
However, one line in the trailer, "This is a chance to crack the highest-level corrupt officers. And the top man," suggests our favourite characters could be in the firing line. "You work with someone - you take their word," the top dog Hastings says. "Until now!", Arnott replies. Dun. Dun Dunnnn.
It is thought that the series will follow a criminal gang rather than a specific officer making for a ring of deceit and intrigue.
Line of Duty is making a triumphant return to screens after its creator’s Jed Mercurio’s smash hit drama, Bodyguard made Richard Madden into everyone’s crush of the moment and birthed a thousand theories about Julia Montague. TBH, we are STILL convinced she is alive and well.
Whatever is in store for our favoruite coppers, one thing is for sure: we cannot deal with this level of NOT KNOWING, already.
Line of Duty returns to BBC1 soon
