The lazy girl's guide to good hair

Taking our lead from the red carpet, we've compiled a list of no-fuss, high-impact, time-friendly hairstyles for you to copy. You can thank us later.
PA PhotosWe massively heart the fact that Kendall Jenner has recently been trying to single-handedly bring back that oh-so-90s two strands of hair at the front of the face trend. Better yet though, it feels totally modern, she's working it - and we can copy it in about 5 seconds, flat!
PA PhotosLoving Doutzen's slicked back locks? Us too but we’ve never had the balls to really try this look on a night out, but there’s something so mega sexy about it and it’s so easy to achieve. However, if you’re not feeling bold enough to dip your head in the sink right before work drinks, running some gel through the roots at the front will set the hair back, giving it a sexy swept-back look - a nice nod to both 90s Kate Moss and 80s power hair.
PA PhotosBeen caught in the rain/let your hair dry naturally? Let’s face it; unless you get driven from A to B every day of your life, you’re going to suffer from one or both of these hair maladies. However, consider your hair trials and tribulations officially over and just copy this side-parted plait. The loose tendrils and the hair wrap around the tie are nice touches, too, that can easily be achieved with a few well-placed kirby grips.
PA PhotosOh-so-pretty and perfect for festival season or a summer wedding - or just y'know, 'coz you fancy it - Bat For Lashes frontwoman Natasha's oversized floral accessory worn just in front of the ear looks perfect with any length hair and is a show-stopping look achieved in roughly 2 seconds.
Rex FeaturesThought fabric headbands should be banished to the bathroom? Think again! Simple, and yet so darn effective; there’s something so effortlessly classic about headbands. Make like Miss Miller here and go for a high ponytail and a big wide band, set nearer the hairline for a swinging 60s feel.
Rex FeaturesIf in doubt/a rush, do as Kristen Stewart would. This is one of the simplest styles to perfect and works on even the frizziest and messiest of manes. To inject some instant devil-may-care glamour into your ‘do, run some serum or texturizing gel through the lengths, then a little volumizing powder at the roots. Finally pledge your allegiance to either your left or right side, flip your hair over and leave it there all night. So 90s and so darn cool.
Rex FeaturesTrust model Jessica Hart to get a low-maintenance and totally sexy ‘do down pat. Whilst some people prefer to go for a tight bun, we’re big fans of the very high, very loose style with lots of movement in the roots for a flatter-all take on the topknot trend.
Rex FeaturesNo longer just the domain of ballet schools, the plaited top knot has gone high fashion. Easy to achieve with an arsenal of kirby grips, this look is also softened by Nicole's sweeping fringe.
PA PhotosGemma Arterton's tidy high bun is a no-fuss option for those in a rush - or for those with a dress with a killer neckline that you're simply itching to show off.
PA PhotosAlexa Chung's brow-skimming fringe has completely update her look and it's so easy to achieve - although if you're new to the world of bangs, we recommend a quick trip to the hairdresser to get a style to suit your face shape.
Rex FeaturesWant to try out the rainbow hair trend without, well, having rainbow hair? Follow GIRLS star Jemima Kirke's lead and instead of honey highlights through the lengths, opt for gorgeous pastel colours instead. This look is easier than ever to recreate now too, thanks to hair chalks, powders and sprays that are easy to apply and wash out.
Rex FeaturesGot a bob? Make like Jourdan Dunn then and add some interest and texture to your shorter style in the form of glossy undone ringlets which can be achieved in a matter of moments with straightening irons or a heated wand.
Rex FeaturesThe Blonde Salad's Chiara Ferragni gave us major hair envy at NYFW when she stepped out with this side-swept full-loaded plait. The icing on the proverbial beauty cake though? That giant hat.
Rex FeaturesKate Bosworth simplistic half-up 'do is guaranteed to be your new beauty go-to of an evening. Slicked down, poker straight locks are easy to recreate with straightening irons and a healthy does of serum or gel but it's all in the oh-so-simple detail with this 'do...
Rex FeaturesSecured at the back with a couple of strands of twisted hair - and that's all, by the way - this style is just so easy to do yourself. So give it a go!
PA PhotosLara Stone proves exactly why the humble ponytail still takes some beating.
Rex FeaturesIf you've got face framing tendrils or fully-loaded bangs, make like Rashida Jones and make them a part of your halo braid for a bit of added intrigue.
Rex FeaturesMiranda Kerr is the unofficial queen of the glossy side-swept 'do but this style couldn't be easier. Just sweep all your hair onto one shoulder and... That's it.
Rex FeaturesAnother excellent side-swept 'do for shorter styles, make like Kylie Jenner and put one side behind your ear and really muss up the rest giving it plenty of movement and volume through the roots with a texturizing powder or spray.
Rex FeaturesAnother quick and easy style? This centre-parted 'do on Emma Watson ticks all the right beauty boxes and looks really sharp. Just move your parting bang in the centre and put your hair behind your ears and you're good to go.
PA PhotosSuki Waterhouse's hair = another argument in favour of getting a fringe.
PA PhotosYou can't beat fresh, wild flowers as the perfect hair accessory, so props to Arizona Muse for such a simple-yet-oh-so-pretty style such as this pinned back 'do with red and white florals.
PA PhotosKerry Washington proves that simple can be oh-so-effective with this black ribbon hairband. The Scandal star tied it in an effortless bow under her ballerina bun in a look that is pretty easy to replicate. (Yey for us!)
Rex FeaturesGot shorter hair? Then why not add some texture to your look with a bit of product to give it some grit at the roots. We’re big fans of Carey’s mussed-up, shaggy style, which can be achieved by creating volume by massaging the roots with your fingertips and bringing the hair forward at the crown. For the extra flicky ends, use a pair of irons or a heated wand.
Rex FeaturesIt doesn't get much easier than Olivia Palermo's sides-swept, barely-holding it together plait. Whilst you might be re-doing this style for much of the night thanks to it coming undone, you can certainly bask in the glory of how good this super-loose plaited style looks for at least 5 minutes.
Rex FeaturesAnother quick way to make a beauty impact in under 5 seconds? If you're known for your thick, glossy, brow-skimming bangs; part them. It'll be the talking point of the night.
Rex FeaturesOr if you’re wanting your locks to hang long, loose and fancy-free, then why not copy what Cara Delevingne has done here with a thick, wide band worn around the crown. Power brows, optional.
Rex FeaturesA long or mid-slung ponytail with a centre parting at the front and some quickly back-brushed height around the crown is a super style. We pretty much do this every single time our hair is a tiny bit unruly (read: greasy) and why not add in a big velvet bow for a little Parisian chic twist on an ol’ classic.
Rex FeaturesNot that we’re suggesting that you take the scissors to your hair during your lunch-break but this barely-there fringe on long hair takes some beating in the style/ease stakes.
