If Riverdale is your ultimate guilty pleasure (let's face it, it definitely is), then you'll be overjoyed to hear the MEGA news that a spin-off series is on its way!
The creative team behind the wildly popular Netflix teen drama confirmed the news on Twitter with an image of an old Katy comic book cover."The #Riverdale universe expands!" exclaimed writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa "Thrilled to be bringing the adventures of Katy Keene and her New York pals to life! Extra-thrilled to be doing this with my pal Michael Grassi @thatthingofwhen!".
Ahead of its TV debut, GLAMOUR has compiled a list of everything you need to know about Katy Keene.
What is it?
Katy Keene follows Katy and her friends navigating love, friendship and work as a twenty-something in NYC. The girl-gang will attempt to become the next runway, broadway and musical stars in this 'musical dramedy'.
Photos captured from the set showed Katy being proposed to by her on-screen boyfriend suggesting wedding bells are on the cards!
When is it being released?
While no official release date has been announced, Katy Keene is expected to air in Winter/Spring 2020. It'll be worth the wait, we promise.
Who is in the cast?
On March 11, it was confirmed that Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale will join the cast as Katy, an aspiring fashion designer navigating love, life and work as a twenty-something in New York.
On news of her casting, Hale posted a photo of herself on Instagram captioned: "Well I'm slightly freaking out! Thank you @archiecomics / @writerras / @thecw / @warnerbrostv / @thatthingofwhen for trusting me to be your KATY KEENE. my heart is bursting ❤️".
Lucy will be joined by Camilla Hyde, Lucien Laviscount and Riverdale alumni Ashleigh Murray.
