We interrupt your autumn/winter scheduling for a snapshot into SS25, and introduce you to fashion's latest micro trend: jumbo cuffs.
Forget your dainty tennis bracelets (though not forever, of course), because according to the runways, this coming season is all about bold and oversized accessories.
Silver accented the wrists of sheer bodysuits at ALAÏA, while gold was favoured by Loewe and Alexander McQueen. Saint Laurent took the '80s approach by adorning both arms with statement bangles, and Isabel Marant stood true to its bohemian themes with metallic cuffs to the forearms and biceps of every other model on the catwalk.
We're not entirely surprised, either. This year we've witnessed voluminous bags, XXL suiting and OTT designer sunglasses, so it was only a matter of time before everyone's obsession with excessively sized items turned to jewellery.
Top tips: Don't be afraid of the click-clacking stack – the more you can fit on your arms, the merrier – and the same goes for mixing metals and materials. Saint Laurent's resin cuffs are a retro dream, and wooden iterations like the one from Isabel Marant accent them perfectly.
As for how to style them? We're already seeing the movement trickle down to this side of 2025 with much of the fashion crowd wearing them atop their clothing, rather than beneath. Try pinching the wrists of anything from your crisp white shirts to relaxed jackets and fluffy knitwear.
